Like what I see except no a/c in the bedrooms.
Coming late May-early June. We came around the same time last year (near Hart Bay) and liked the a/c at night.
Other comments and/or experiences greatly appreciated.

I've taken a look at Ixora and seriously considered it. It is extremely convenient to Francis Bay and Maho Bay and gets great morning sun. It's close enough to walk to the Smoothie Stand on Centerline Road. I'm not an a/c seeking person and don't see that as a problem. When we stayed at Callaloo villa of the same road we had not problems with heat - the days and nights were nice. The large pool and adjacent kitchen makes for great entertaining.
But, the location adjacent to the intersection of Centerline and North Shore Roads does cause more traffic noise during the day.
One thing I would classify as a rumor, I spoke to a woman who was staying there with a group in 2002 and she mentioned that the furnishings were tired. Rather than giving that any credence, I would ask the renter when the furnishings were last freshened. All of the images on the CV website appear to be from October 2002. A quick snoop on the archive.org Internet time machine shows that the images changed between February and October 2002, likely indicated a renovation.
Cheers, RickG

Thanks Pia, I tried to fully caveat the rumor, but it was from someone who would have known at the time. I think it is a good prospect for the right group.

gotta love this board

for dispensing good advice. I did call a CV rep (very nice and informative) who confirmed that all new furniture and upgraded electronics have been installed. Also, that bedrooms have been repainted. Never hurts to ask!
RickG - the proximity to Maho is a plus for us and thanks for the tip on road noise. After much grinding, we are down to Ixora, Great Turtle or La Mer. Any input again much welcomed.

There is a home being built under La Mer - not much going on at the moment but you never know when it will start up again as they are only at the cistern/concrete stage (actually the people we are having drinks with tomorrow who are at Ixora moved from La Mer (fab view btw) because of the possible construction noise)

Hey Jp,
I haven't stayed @ Ixora before, but I have been in touch with Charles Mueller who I believe is one of the owners of Ixora and Chateau Margot. Last week he mentioned via email that the same decorators that did Chateau Margot have been working on Ixora. So I am sure the villa will be beautiful and fresh!
We were very interested in Margot but don't think it will work for 5 couples cuz you'd have to share a bathroom so now we're looking into Vistaero. Any info on that one JP?
Anyway, good luck villa hunting!
