Looking for an economical way to get family of six to St John.Delta is definately not cooperating. Now looking for a steamer to hire on as deck hands, leaving out of New Orleans and arriving St Thomas on May 24th.Would prefer staterooms but will consider hammocks in the hold.Wages are negotiable.

In all seriousness, Delta is usually very expensive. Have you looked at Spirit's rates? Sure, the women's bathroom line at FLL in the Spirit terminal is outrageous, but I'll make almost any sacrifice to save $200 pp.

Yeah, those airline tix can be killer, especially when you're bringing the family. Do you have frequent flier miles? All mine are on United, and they don't offer award travel to the Caribbean.

However, I can use frequent fliers to get to SJU, so I'm considering doing that and then flying Cape Air to STT, which is about $220pp (alot less than the coach fare I paid to get from ORD to STT on United.)

Family of 6; I feel for ya! We are 4 and our airfare usually competes with the villa for the highest travel expense. It's the killer. Good luck with that!

Yeh, we flew Spirit back in July with the family. It was fine with no problems.Their running around 450.00 out of ATL right now.I'm hoping they come down to around 300.00 in Feb. like last year. But I doubt they will.
It's like sitting here with a loaded gun to your head waiting on the inevitable.
Thanks for your comiseration.
