A 3-4 bedroom villa that has one level living or at least one bedroom on the same level as kitchen, dinig area, pool deck. Cruz bay side of the island preferred and at the moment not concerned about price that much. Just wondering if this layout exists. Pool and AC in the bedrooms required.
Can anyone help with suggestions?

mary beth,
i've looked at allesandra availability for every trip because she has the requirements you mention. just never worked worked out for us. she's on upper rockridge not far from bongo bongo and higher up. we have stayed just above allesandra a couple of times (temptress and treasure ridge very nice with 2 ac'ed masters on same level as kitchen but no views from) and the views in that area are fantastic.
if you can get by with 2 bedrooms plus a loft with ac that would be great for kids, you might look at our fav, cloud 9 on gifft hill. not luxury but so damn comfortable and island feeling. all areas have split system ac when needed, water views from kitchen and except for loft, all one level. we go back for our 4th stay at c9 next month.

I like the Indigo. That could work great for us. Should have said if it is 3 bedroom we need one room with twin beds. This is going to be a tough order to fill if it works out. My mom (age 84) is saying she wants to come on our 2009 trip. She can't do stairs well so I'm trying to find something that would accomodate her well. I don't see her running to a lot of beaches either so the house would have to be well suited for her - I'd see her stay at the villa while we ran around the island most days.
Don't know if it will happen but just wanted to be armed with some ideas if it does.

We did Cocotier with my parents in 2006. It was very nice. My Dad is bent and broken and he got around fine. He even found the pool easy. Check out the Gang of 24 trip report and our villa review. Destination St. John.

thanks Rick. I was hoping you'd chime in. I knew there was a place with your parents but I couldn't recall which one.

Mary Beth - Great Expectations could work for you. We stayed there last year, used 4 of the bedrooms. The villa is set up nicely, all on one level. Main house with kitchen, living area, powder room. Separate bedroom villas each with 2 BR, 2 BA. Pool is a few steps outside of the main house, on the same level. Pool is divided into a baby pool area and a deeper section. Hot tub as well. Great views, even a tennis court. We liked it there. Let me know if you need info.

Edens Whim is in Great Cruz Bay and has 3 bedrooms on the same level, one near the pool, with a 5th down below, awesome kitchen, gi-normous patios, huge pool {really} a two vehicle car port to keep your jeep out of the sun.

Hale Lani would work great too. There are two upstairs bedrooms, each with their own bath that can both be kings or twins (just let them know ahead of time what you want). The pool, kitchen, family room and deck (which was an awesome outside family room) are all right there. There are three steps down to the pool, but nothing major.
The third and fourth bedrooms are downstairs. There is a shared bath. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two twins that can be made into a king. Downstairs views are OK, but nothing like the upstairs ones.

We are renting Indigo in March---looks great, but bedrooms are on a number of different levels---I am told it involves quite a few stairs (not an issue for us---I need the exercise once in a while). How about Villa Rendezvous? Another great option, if it fits your budget, is Oceana through Vacation Vistas.

Villa Panache has the great room, pool, huge terrace , and 3 bedrooms all on one level (there are two other bedrooms on different levels). We really loved that house---the views are just gorgeous---and the kitchen/great room is wonderful. There are some stairs to go down from the driveway to the house.

MB,
I've been searching 3 to 4 bedroom villas near to Cruz Bay for our September trip.
Indigo is my favorite...but it doesn't have central air. We have a whole new set of mandates since we have a new addition to our family. Spencer David Vincent was born on Nov. 28...today is his 2 month birthday.

He is absolutely adorable and this Grammie is admittedly smitten with the little guy. He will be 9 months old when we visit St. John in September.
I thought I'd share a few villas from my search...
Vida de Mar...although I'm not sure how close Devers Bay is to Cruz Bay. I think it's managed by Catered To

Rapture...

I think it's managed be Ultimate Villas, but CV has better photos....

Good luck in finding a villa for your family...mia
