Thank God the Giants won if only so that we don’t have to listen to the media fawn over Brett Favre over the next 2 weeks to the point where you just want to vomit.

Two things on Sunday morning that made me wish I knew a bookie or lived in Las Vegas: heard on the radio that the spread had moved to 8; and a great article in the NJ Star Ledger breaking down Favre’s atrocious performances against the same Eagles defense that the Giants D coordinator brought with him from Philly (and the Giants have finally gotten the hang of playing) = 52% completion rate, 4 TDs/12 interceptions (!), 18 sacks, 170 yds per game, adding up to a dreadful 51.3 QB rating and a 2 – 5 record. Ouch.
Seemed like a very good omen for the Giants.

Funny - that game's outcome was predicted over 20 years ago

Fair enough - as long as you don't mind hearing about "baby brother Manning" ad nauseum...

Priceless...

Well, the only good thing about the Giants win on Sunday is........wait, no, there is no good thing about it.....GO COWBOYS!! There's always next year.....

We heard so much about Tony and Jessica, why haven't we heard about Brady and the 3 or 4 models he has impregnated outside of marraige??? I can only hope The Giants beat up on the Patriots in two weeks!!

No doubt that will be a theme with the national media, along with how great the Pats are (interesting that they haven’t covered in 7 out 8 last weeks).
Locally, Eli has gotten killed in NY area for not living up to his draft day expectations quick enough and even for his easy going nature. But you wont get him (or his Dad) to say I told you so. I find that kind of refreshing.

Gotta stick up for my Patriots here! (Everybody hates a winner  ) Whether you are a fan or not, it is incredible what they have accomplished (18-0). Since I am not a betting gal, I never ever know what the spread is, but I sure can tell a win from a loss  Go Patriots! 18 and 0 and one to go!!!!

I'm really confused. Is it football season again? This is getting like bloody hockey.

Cheers, RickG

I like football and I am a Giants fan so I am very excited for the game.
I think that the Patriots have had a great season and I am looking forward to a very exciting superbowl, that being said, I could care less about the personal lives of the players. If Brady has a "fruitful" personal life- so be it. If Eli has not lived up to what his fans wanted, well that is too bad for those fans.
I like football and I like the Giants. I will watch a football game on Superbowl Sunday and I will probably enjoy a few funny commercials. Their personal lives are of no consequence to me. I care about plays and turnovers and touchdowns.

I kind of understand what you are saying, but kind of disagree. For some reason, it makes a difference whether the athlete I am rooting for is a jerk or not. I'm not making a comment on Brady, as I really don't know much about him off field...other than he is good looking and therefore I hate him.

T.O. is the best, and most recent, example. I just can't bring myself to root for him because he is such a jerk. Latest example, of many, was his Cuba Gooding Jr. imitation when defending Romo. "Jerry, where's Jerry?" "He's my teammate, man, he's my quarterback." Please. Throw "Pac-man" Jones and a slew of other thugs into the equation and you get my point.

For what it's worth, I'm pulling for the G-men. Huge underdogs. Could this be a repeat of the Jet's upset of the heavily favored Colts? That would be fun.

Now, I'm just in it for the food, beverages and fun of watching the commercials during the Super Bowl.

The other best part of this? Once the football season is over, it's almost time for spring. Spring = STJ.
