St Martin Pics/Short Report

On Friday January 11, I motor sailed to the Windward Island of St Martin with a very good friend, Captain Brad http://www.eastcarolinasailing.com/ from little Washington. He is captain of sailing vessel Lady Angele, a 72' Scorpio based in St Martin. For most of December, Lady Angele and crew spent their time in the USVI where I am. It was a privilege to go on the return trip to St Martin from the USVI, about a 100 mile trip. Weather was near perfect. We could have used a little more wind, and if the light wind could have been anywhere besides the nose, it would be perfect. All in all, considering the easterly direction we headed, it was perfect. My friends Nate and Emily went along too. Their first ocean voyage of this distance. For those of you wondering, temps are in the 80's during the day, and low to mid 70's at night. Water temp around the upper 70's to 80.
The photos linked here are of St Martin this past weekend. Mega yachts dotted the harbor everywhere. Yachts that were Lady Angele's size were dwarfed in comparison to the mega yachts over 100 feet in length.

Hope these photos relieve any winter blues!
Lady Angele is available for charter...makes a great honeymoon!!
