herewego,
I have not stayed at Coral Point Beach House, but I would love to! I think it looks great. I thought I would bump this up for you.

I too have always admired Coral Bay Beach House...but I've been hesitant about renting it because I believe it lacks screens. If someone has stayed there and this is not the case, please let me know.
The following description of Coral Bay Beach House is what caused my concern:
"Nothing formal or ostentatious, all open air Caribbean elegance with plantation shutters to gently control the constant trades--all about relaxation and simplicity. Please note that open air homes have very few screens which detract from the desired ambiance."
I'm not against open air ambience...but I hate bugs, especially spiders.

OK Mia that did NOT help! Spiders?

Yes I read about the lack of screens, but I think I want this place soooo much I put that in the back of my mind. Hate spiders?!?, I actually have nightmares about them ( have had these dreams my entire life) I wake up screaming!
We just got back from Antigua and they DO have them.TARANTULAS!! I saw them. Every night Id stuff paper towels under the doors.
Anyway I was hoping to be able to shut all doors at night and hope for the best at Coral Point beach.

I think if the house needed screens they would be in place. The house sits on a ridge line and gets constant breezes. I'm pretty sure all the beds have mosquito nets, and AC. Spiders and crawly critters are a fact of life here. I see them all the time in my house which has screens and doors.

I know there was a report on this villa at some point on the forum, with photos, but I can't find it. I think it must have been on the "old" forum, and those archives don't seem to be up yet.
I do remember that the person staying there really liked the house, that it was very breezy, that they particularly enjoyed the pool and surrounding decking, and that they had to tuck in the mosquito nets well at night. More than that is lost in my brain fog.

Looks absolutely beautiful, but that mosquito netting on all the beds gives me the shivers as I am a bug magnet like nobody's business!! I swear, breezes or not, they would find me and I'd have to spend any villa time sitting on my bed enclosed in the bug netting!

It is a 3 bedroom home....yet allows only 4 guests.
Does anyone know the reason(s) for this restriction?
Could it be water/sewer capabilities?

I'd be concerned about mosquitos and those teeny tiny midgies. When we stayed on Calabash Boom, the breezes where fairly constant but if they died down at all, the bites started.

You can have more than 4 people if you pay 150.00 extra ( each night). Im assuming thats per person, but Im not positive on that. I read that on the Bookitvi site.

herewego,
Unfortunately Coral Point Beach House will accept only 4 guests. The $150.00 extra is for an additional couple if only one couple is renting it...it is kind of confusing.
"SPECIAL NOTE: RENTAL OCCUPANCY IS LIMITED TO TWO COUPLES (4 ADULTS) OR ONE FAMILY(2 adults and 2 Children). If the rental is for a couple, Overnight guests (an additional person or couple) are welcome at $150 per night."
I didn't know if you were counting on 3 bedrooms for 3 couples....
I'm sure you will have a great time...no matter where you choose to stay. Please let me know all about Coral Point Beach House if you do end up staying there.
