Becky and Brian - you will be thrilled with your choice in my opinion - especially later in the year. We last stayed at this place about 5 years ago. The views are absolutely unbelievable. As you probably know being stj vets, the top of bordeaux mtn has its own microclimate and it can actually get cold up there in January. The wind can also be pretty rockin and there are humidity "issues" that are addressed with dehumidifiers in the house. These are petty things to tolerate given that you are sitting on the top of paradise with panoramic views that are dizzying.

The house is quite private and the drive from the Chateau Bordeaux side to the house is pretty easy. When we were there it would have been pretty adventuous to drive the other way down into Coral Bay, but I hear tell it can be done.

You can embark from the house on a hike over the peak and hook up to a trail down to Lameshur. The trail is more of a waterfall if it is raining, but it's bice to be able to hike without getting into the car!

The only thing I recall being a marginal disappointment is the house was pretty much devoid of any cooking stuff (spices etc... so you may want to pull together some basics to take along).

Let me know if you have any specific ??

We're going back for the third time in October. Sometimes I think it would be nice to try something different, but I'm in love with that villa. It's got gorgeous views, it's charming, the decor is lovely, and it's quiet. Follow the recipe for sugarwater which is on the refrigerator, and watch all the hummingbirds and bananaquits. Careful with the bird feeders, though - last October one of them was leaking quite badly, and perhaps it has been replaced.

Enjoy - Orchid Knoll is really special.
