It's always nice to add another trip counter! We booked Allesandra for the week of November 1. There are some forum friends joining us on this trip as well. I'm very much looking forward to staying at this villa with a gang of STJ veterans. Allesandra has one of the best layouts I've seen.

Cheers, RickG

Rick,
Who are you renting this villa through? I'd like to check it out based upon your endorsement! :)

Chet, sounds good. That should beat surfing the Indian River Inlet in January!!!

K, It's from Caribbean Villas. Waterguy has stayed there and so have MrB and MrsB. We stopped by in November to party with MrB and MrsB and we loved the layout. It has a series of three terraces each separated by a few steps. It's basically a visual triangle from the kitchen, to the patio, to the pool deck that is pointed at the sunset. Impressive feng shui. The pictures on the web site really do not do it justice.

Waterguy, did you use the third bedroom under the garage when you were there?

Ok Rick,
How many people and what are we calling this trip? You are going to come to the same conclusion that Deb and I did if you keep this up. It's cheaper to live down there and back to the states for vacation. :D
Congrats Jay

captainjay, we'll see who the final crew ends up being. It's early for folks to commit. I just like to get booked early. We have a 10 year plan that includes learning to sail. I divest the last spawn in 2015. I'll be in the market for a Coral Bay mooring before then.

Sea-nile, we can see your pool deck from our villa. No tan lines allowed!!!

theshopper3, Larry has more fun when we're on the island!

Cheers, RickG

I've got my eye on that 3rd bedroom!

The only drawback is the lack of view. The master bedroom has the same view as the deck...what a sight in the mornings!

Not that we have seen loads of St. John villas, but I think we can be very happy if we only ever stay at Allie again!

Can't wait to hang with the Vets again this year, but that 200+ day ticker is just too depressing to put up just yet ;)

I think we need to have a pre-trip planning meeting. (the nice thing about pre-trip planning with other vets is it's pretty much an excuse to get together and party...who needs to plan?!?!?! No wondering where to buy this...how to ship that...how to pack this...were to go to eat that...what place is this friendly...what sight is that easy to negotiate.)

Tell Chris and the Govt. crew that we are starting pre-season liver training now!

OK....now I am pumped! LOL

Okay, so they are out of the closet - we are joining forces with MrB and MrsB in November. This will be fun, or dangerous.

Pre-planning party?! Rehobeth Beach in August?

Training the liver? We leave for 10 days of beer camp in the Czech Republic on Thursday. I've whittled the brewery list down to the top 30. It's a good thing we are sleeping at a brewery hotel every night. <BURP> I've got a lead on three places that serve awesome beer for 17 crowns a half liter - that's $0.94. The rest of the country is priced accordingly.

Exercise the liver.

Cheers, RickG

So the SOTB II pool deck will be in your sights, huh??? Hmmm, this could prove to be very interesting - we'll have to make a sign for ya. Can't wait to see you and Christine again...sounds like there will be oodles of Forum folk around.

Hmmm...there's Sebastian Inlet not far from where I live that's quite a surf spot, and the inlet runs from the Atlantic to the Indian River (Intracoastal Waterway). Is that what you're referring to Rick, or is it some other Indian River?

When I was younger and (as I say now) not as smart, I didn't mind surfing the Inlet in January.

But ever since all of my wetsuits shrunk...not so much.
