travelocity update

Well, after four hours on the phone with travelocity today they finally figured out another itinerary for the days we wanted to fly. They said they would call back and didn't, emailed them, no reply. Most of my time was spent on hold. Would not allow me to talk to a supervisor. Got cut off once. Now we won't be getting to St. Thomas until 7 p.m. instead of 4 so thirteen hours of travel time and still not to St. John. Since we are staying way out by Sloop's on the east end it will be a long, long day and the drive out there at night will be a little scary I think.
If I knew then what I know now I would never have used travelocity. The American Airlines confirmation we received has my husband's name spelled wrong, too, so I still have to deal with that. I can't imagine how many more emails we will get between now and April saying things have been changed again. I have such a headache
After googling travelocity I found a lot of horror stories. Hope this helps someone.

Hi cinnyb! American Airlines is ALWAYS messing around with flight itineraries, it's happened to me LOTS! Once you get things straightened out with Travelocity, can you go directly to American to fix any future schedule changes?

I don't think it would work because we are leaving Syracuse to JFK with Delta and then on the way home leaving JFK to SYR with Delta. The flights in between will be American Airlines. I will ask if there is any way they could do anything when I talk to them about getting the name changed. It is a good idea that I never thought of, thanks!

It's about 4.5 hours from SYR to JFK..Any chance you'd consider driving to JFK and cutting out the first and last flight legs?

I am so sorry you are having such a tough time. Traveling can be stressful enough without complications like this.
I do use Travelocity most of the time for my travel reservations and have never had a problem (that they've caused anyway!). I hope that they straighten everything out for you.

Sorry you are having so many problems.
We fly out of Syracuse and always us USAIR. I used to travel for business and had miles, so just started to us them. We have had good luck ... not many changes in times or cancelled flights. Had a delay on our return from STT in December, but called ahead and got changed to another flight and arrived home only 2 hours late.
Hope everything worked out for you. PM me if I can help with anything .... I'm just down the road in Central Square !!!

cinnyb - Ahhh, the joys of living in the PHX area. I feel your pain. Its too bad PHX is the gateway to the Grand Canyon and not much else. Pre 9/11, American used to have a red eye to DFW, which worked out great cuz you arrived in STT in the afternoon. Red eye no more. United, USAir & Delta still do red eye flights, all of which arrive next day in STT in daylight. USAir has a habit of changing flights at the last minute too, but usually on the STT-PHX route. At the last minute they'll make you stay overnight in CLT. If only Spirit Air would start flying out of PHX, i wish i wish!
