Plane Wreck Story?

Just fishing for a story here...I've seen plenty of photos of the plane wreck in Cinnamon Bay but never saw anything about how it got there...does anyone know the story? :?:

Yeah, me too. I'd be interested to know about that, I'm looking forward to check that out too, I think it's in little cinnamon? (left of cinnamon bay)

C'mon, there has got to be an answer to this mystery, does anyone have any clues? Ya'll know the one...in little Cinnamon bay...

...and just for fun, to sweeten the deal, here's a link to a Google Earth placemark to a smuggling plane that went down in the bahamas, there's alot of story to this one...mostly unverified to my knowlege but all related to the infamous Carlos Lehder...

JJ- Yeah, ya busted me....wasn't sure if you'd notice I ripped this off from your pics on the 'net...I've seen bunches of them around but yours were the most recent and I actually remembered where they were, hope you don't mond....I shamelessly...uh "borrow" from the internet whenever possible and also share/donate stuff too...

So, do you know the story of how it got there?

I have no idea how it got there, but we enjoyed snorkeling over it last June. There should be some info on it somewhere...:)

Probably spare parts that fell of a barge on the way to Tortola and washed into the bay. How's that for letin the air out of the balloon.

yes it is left of Cinnamon facing the ocean. we took a small trail over to Little Cinnamon thru a fence Its about 20 ft out. Not hard to find...:)

Thanks JJ for where it is exactly. As to the story, if I were to take a gander... well I think the pilot wanted a permanant vacation when he was flying over head and decided to ditch the plane and jump into the water and swim to shore... maybe an old hermit living on island somewhere :D :lol: Hell, I'd do it! :D

Theres a paragraph about it in the book "Feet Fins and 4 Wheel drive. says possibly a Piper Cub. also says it amazingly clean it is after 40 yrs of being down there. It also gives directions on how to get to it..:)

That's funny, I was just about to email Pam Gaffin (author of "Feet Fins and 4 Wheel Drive") when I saw this post. I figured she'd know....
