Flying out of Pittsburgh, weather is very cold. low 30's. What does everyone wear so I'm not roasting when we arrive to STT.

I would dress comfortably for the plane ride and pack another outfit to change into after arriving in STT. I changed in the ladies room there and it worked out great! I like to wear long pants on the plane and have a little sweater/tank top combo so I can add or remove depending on the temp on the plane.

In this weather I wear jeans and a long sleeved shirt or hoodie with a tank top underneath. On my feet I usually wear boat shoes (can also wear socks if it's really cold). I leave my coat in the car. In case of another luggage disaster, I pack shorts and a bathing suit in my carry-on.

I also change on the plane, I always carry two changes of clothes in my carry-on. Hubs travels in shorts and a sweatshirt (in Central PA) but I am too much of a sissy.

A jogging suit with a tank top underneath the jacket. Bring along a pair of comfy drawstring shorts and flip-flops to slap on in your carryon. I'm usually cold on planes and strip down upon arrival!

I leave from Philadelphia in the winter so I wear sweatpants and a hoodie. I put a tank top underneath the hoodie and carry on a jean skirt. Before arrival, I simply pull the jean skirt on over the sweats and pull down the sweats - viola - jean skirt and tank top for the islands I wear flip-flops regardless of the weather which also helps with airport security. I came up with a good solution for me the last trip in terms of pants. REI sells light weight pants that the bottom half of zips off, turning them into shorts.

Used them both ways, on the return stayed in the shorts version until we were ready to get on the plane, then just zipped in the "lower halves"...

I'm also a fan of the zip-off pants. Wear a tank or tee with a hoodie on top and sneakers. I wear a light parka that gets me to/from the terminal in boston and throw it in the carry on.

Yep, zip off pants and I use them as shorts while I'm down there. I go for the full geek effect - Teva's with hiking socks. If we are taking a cab I try to get away with the smallest lightest jacket I have - my GoLite is about 13 oz.

The pant legs and socks come off before we get somewhere warm. No waiting while folks change at the airport! I stick the socks and pant legs in the side pockets of my knapsack and they are there when its time to go home.

Yup - I am going German next trip, socks and sandals too.

I used to wear sneakers (running shoes) down and back but I am working on whittling down the luggage this year. No room for extras!

The zip off pants are the way to go. Last year we went to Costa Rica in early February. The plan was to leave our jackets in the car at the airport. Well, wouldn't you know it was 18 below in Denver that morning, so we ended up wearing our heaviest coats. We didn't want to lug them around so we put them in our checked luggage when we got to the ticket counter. The only snag was in the jetway. It was freezing and of course we had to spend a few minutes in there. Once we got in the plane, it was fine. Just before we landed in CR, we converted our pants into shorts.

When we got off the plane it was in the 80's, so we had a temperature increase of about 100 degrees.

I am another huge fan of the zip off pants. I also wear a tank or tee with a hoodie and Teva's on my feet with or without socks. You can find zip off pants on-line at LL Bean among others.

Even in November, I still wore shorts, flip flops a t shirt and zip up hoodie.

I figure I'm in a warm car, get out of the car into the airport, then I'm fine.

I like to wear a long linen skirt with a tank top and a sweater or zip up hoodies over it.
When I leave the house I have socks (or tights) and closed toe shoe, then I will loose the sweater, socks, and shoes on the plane and throw on the flipflops in my carry on.
That way, I don't have to completely change and I wear the same outifit on the trip home and have nice skirt if I need to dress up for dinner at Caneel.

My hubby also does the zip off pants thing - they've been all over the world with us and work great. I like capri pants with Keens or Merrell shoes and socks which I lose when we land. Layer on top and I also wear a very light waterproof breathable short jacket with a fleece jacket underneath so it works for warmth when we leave/return to NJ and I also have some lightweight protection for the occasional dose of "liquid sunshine"!
