Would you book a villa with no view?

We are still deciding wether or not we can make the trip this August for my birthday. There are many deciding factors this year; Chip has a new job and less vacation time, we need to fully replace the liner in our inground pool, we need to replace the roof and my company is moving.
With all that being said, if we make the trip, it will be on the cheap. I really have to have a pool, it is what I look forward to on vacation and I will not budge on that and Chip will not stay in a condo/apartment with a shared pool and he would like to be on the Cruz Bay side of the island.

I found this house and although it has no view, I really like it. http://www.vivacations.com/ViewProperty ... tyID=26648
I wonder if I would be disappointed with no view?

It's still on St John, so if that's what it takes to get there I could live with it.

I LOVE that house...and have been looking at it. It is certainly sharp. If it only had a view. I guess, one has to think, once it becomes dark the view doesn't matter anyway. Other than looking up to the stars. :)

I guess it depends on how much you Really enjoy just sitting there Looking at the view. If that is a big part of your relaxation while on STJ, and one of the reasons you go, then I think you would miss it.

But it is a killer house. Good luck!!

I guess it depends on how much you'll be hanging out there. I think the villa looks great and when you're out & about on STJ the views are everywhere! Go for it :D

Even with no view, that seems like a very nice place. And to me, any view that's different than home is a view.
I'd go for it, but then again, on my last trip, my view was the Coral Bay "dock" and Skinny's. :)

X: The view is to me what the pool is to you. I would not stay in a villa without a view but would stay in a villa without a pool. I would say that if your most important criteria has been met, it's a go...... Have fun!! Ali~

X - it's a beautiful home for a great price! I have found that if I'm not as happy with my villa/condo when I'm there, I tend to spend more time out and about. You will find the views that you love from the beaches, hikes, rides around the island and even, the Beach Bar. My vote is go for it!

That place looks nice and is that water, a beach, that I see in the background?
If a place without a view was the only way I could get to STJ, I'd do it for sure. The place we stayed in June didn't have much of a view but we weren't in the villa much anyway.

Stay there you won't be disappointed! Stayed there last summer, pool area is beautiful, inside is high end, location very convenient, for the price can't be beat. They have allready raised it a couple hundred from last year and it is still a good deal. Would have stayed there for our May trip but was allready taken.

Thanks for the heads up Kirk. It really looks gorgeous. Now I have to convince Chip that the view is not important.

Don't get me wrong, I love views but being from the Northeast, the tropical plants alone thrill me to no end. I would rent it!

I would give up a view in a minute if it came down to going or not going. I too "need" a pool. I can see great views when I hit the STJ beaches!

Your on St. John, that's the deciding factor for me, especially after seeing both pics posted by you and cptnkirk, it look like a great place!

John and I were just looking at that house last night! We decided that having a view was just too important to us, but that house really is nice. The landscaping is incredible, and the furniture is nice also. If the pool and grounds were more important than the view, I would rent it in a heartbeat!

Another "plus" for Angelica, if you're going in August, is that it is fully air-conditioned. The pool, A/C and location (given your desire to be on Cruz Bay side)seem to make it a good choice. We are going to St. John in March with several families, all staying in Great Cruz Bay area---one of the families rented Angelica---we'll give you a report if you like.
