Anybody have any experience taking underwater photos at around 2 feet below the water using this specific model (for snorkeling at chest high water level)?

How well/badly it performed..etc..

I bought the 790 on our trip to the VI's a couple weeks ago. It was $50 cheaper than I had found online, plus they gave me a 1mg card and case. I had researched prices and such on both the 770 and 790 and ended up with the 790. Its a lighter weight camera and I have no need to go any deeper than 10'. Can't, have ear issues so I just stay near the surface mostly. I liked the 790 so much that I sold my 5mp camera that was about 1.5 years old. The 790 takes so much better pictures than my old kodak 5mp. The software that Olympus sends out to is very easy to use and make color adjustments. Great for underwater pics since they always need a bit of tweaking. The 790 seemed much lighter and less bulky to me as well. Fits very nicely in your pocket. The 770 seemed a bit wider and more boxey looking, less easily to fit in your pocket. Not to mention you can pick any color you want with the 790!

Initially I had my mind set on the 770, but I am glad that I went with the 790!

It was so enlightning to read your report on the 790. A month or so I posted a question on it on this forum and had a couple of good responses. I bought this for my husband for Christmas. Got it from this website through Amazon. Thanks for the report on it. Now we just have to get back to STJ to use it. Soon Come!
