Looking into this villa for Mar 08. Any comments? We have two couples and two young adjust (brother & sister). How far is it from town? Do taxi's venture out this way for the late nighters? Any construction around?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated...

we just stayed on Gifft Hill and loved the location. While there was no constuction right around us I could hear some far off in the distance at times but nothing to complain about.
The views are fabulous.
As for taxi's we were able to arrange one through Slimman who runs the paid parking lot in town. Other than that I didn't see too many taxis in the neighborhood.

We stayed there on our honeymoon in 8/05. There a several accurate reviews posted. If you have specific questions feel free to PM me.

My husband and I stayed at Coconuts in May 2006 and loved it. The deck and pool area are very nice for hanging out at the villa. Beautiful views over to St Thomas. We enjoyed the gazebo with a table, some comfy chairs and a loveseat.

It was just a few minutes to town - we rented a car, but I did see a taxi in the neighborhood one night. It ran into a small stone wall when it turned onto our street.

The only downside for your group could be that the loft has very steep narrow stairs up to it, and it was hot up there. There is no A/C in that pod, but there were fans. Depending upon the time of year, it might be a bit hot for sleeping.

you'll have no problems with taxi's home...you're right off centerline rd. i have stayed in this villa, nice view and easy /short, ride to cruz bay !!
