Ok, here's the first of a series of questions I will be posting for our 2nd trip to St. John. I am kind of making a small to-do list way ahead of time.
We didn't do a lot of drinking on our 1st trip since were not really drinkers. However, since joining the forum I have learned of a few drinks which sound fabulous that we didn't partake in before. The Lime-n-coconut one (sorry, forget the official name), and the pain killer. Also BBC's, but we had them at Coccoloba-Auqa Bisto (no where else) which we LOVED.
Question #1 is: Where's the best places (or one place?) for Pain Killers and Line and coconuts (and bbc's)?
I have a feeling there is going to be a fierce war about to take place with this question

Well... first off I have to say if you are not big drinkers, then just BEWARE of the Painkiller. They call it that for a reason. They taste so innocuous, but they are potent! (Also: See Rum Punch)

Best Painkiller outside of Jost Van Dyke? Beach Bar, hands down. Second? Gecko Gazebo. Third? Take your pick!

I don't know much about the Lime drink -- I'll leave that to someone else.

For me the only place for a Lime in de Coconut is one made by hubby

but then followed by one at Morgans Mango when you ask them to put the lime in as well - by that I mean the actual rind and they blend it in......fabulous

They always made it this way but I guess a few people didn't like that there was tiny peices in it so they quit but will still do so if you ask them......yummy

I enjoyed the Lime in da Coconut at the Beach Bar; kind of converted me from a strictly Bushwacker girl.

Have only had Painkillers at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost; worth the trip.

If you're in Mongoose Junction, take a break at the Gecko Gazebo. I didn't try any of your specialties there, but the drinks were tasty none the less.

For me, the best Lime n' Coconut I had anywhere on STJ was not at a bar, but at Miss Lucy's Sunday Brunch. It had all those little lime chunks in it

- YUM! The Balcony came in a close second for me, then the Gecko Gazebo.

I like the Quiet Mon when Kenny or Van is bartending; Gecko when Tyler is there and The Beach Bar when Dave is there.

I agree with X, love Tyler tending and Kenny at Quiet Mon
I like my lime n' coconut at Beach bar
Painkillers are Jost
BBC or Bushwackers Quiet Mon
Mojito's are La Tapa.........

Any drink at the "Beach Bar" , "Shipwreck Landing" or my cooler on Honeymoon Bay.
A great drink deserves a great view!

I like the Beach Bar for Lime-n-Coconuts. Make sure they put the lime in, just like Pia said. Some bartenders don't. (They were really hit and miss at Woody's.)

I thought Woody's had really good bushwackers. Blue motorcycles at Woody's are fun.

Black-out punch at Quiet Mon, but maybe not the best choice for someone who doesn't drink a lot.

As far as painkillers, NO ONE's compares to Soggy Dollar's (although mine at home are way close with the handy painkiller kit I bought from Ruth). Skinny Legs makes the best painkiller on STJ.

I had my best mojito at Morgan's Mango.

Is it time to go back yet?
