I think that you will find many businesses on the island on the market at one time or another, that is not to say that it will not remain the same, just have new owners. Chilly Billy's is not owned by the original owners and I think it is still great.

Flip-Flop,
I'm going to give you one of my island business ideas (ok 2 ideas). Everywhere I go I see couples taking pictures of each other. I always ask if they would like me to take a picture of the two of them. It's always appreciated. How about a business that charges $1 to take your picture with your camera. You could walk the beaches or downtown Cruz Bay with a sign that says that.

Other idea for St.John is a water taxi that takes you from one beach to another. It could run from Hawksnest to Jumbie to Trunk to Waterlemon Cay (and back). No hiking, just ride the water taxi to the beaches and snorkeling.

Think about it - providing a fun service that helps prople. Beats the DC ice and cold.
