and this is mostly what you will see. No story today, getting bored with myself as others are I'm sure The pictures tell the story. Overlooks, Salomon and Honeymoon beaches.






I had booked a sunset sail on Calypso as a surprise for Charlie. Didn't tell him about it until we were on island. But it was cancelled because they need 8 people to go out and only had 4. Oh well. We did the sunset at home and then to La Tapa for dinner as planned. La Tapa was the only dinner dining spot that we repeated from last year. I was sorry I waited so late in the week to return because I would have gone twice! Should have gone back on the last night but didn't.


this salad of Josephine's greens with cashew crusted goat cheese was possibly the single best dish I had on island. it was perfect. then I had small plates of grilled shrimp and a steamed artichoke with saffron sauce. Charlie had the pasta. The wine was Stag's Leap Viognier. Even getting rained on did not dampen this fine meal. I wish La Tapa was in my town!

Bored?!?! Are you kidding?!? Your pics and words are like fresh air to a jailbird! The prospect of snow here today and NO countdown ticker are just about enough to make me slit my wrists! Keep 'em coming!

MB - So not bored. The more the better! Keep me out of my VA early snow induced depression!

I just discovered Viognier this summer at a winery in Virginia. Can't remember the winery but it was very good.

That pasta looked to die for and the salad looks like the salad I have at least once a week for lunch at a little cafe called Stardust in Alexandria.

I agree with LLBL - I am totally NOT bored and want more! Please keep us happy. This reminds me of the On St. John guys not giving us a beach break a while back...!!!

The pictures sure are awesome though!

Don't ever think we're 'bored' with your tr! I think one can sense all of us salivating for installments of the "next one" (tr)....they are great! Your pics are beautiful...they alone are truly worth those thousand words!

I second everyone here and and say we are not bored, your trip reports are great.

Thanks to you I am definatly going to try out La Tapa. I can not wait, those shrimp looked wonderful.

just fyi the menus chnages daily so don't get your heart set on anything but know that whatever they offer that night will be wonderful!

Bored. Not. Beats the heck out of shoveling snow! Im way to pretty to be doing that today...should be in here reading about MB and STJ

I have to agree about LaTapa. We had not eaten there. Nature Girl talked us into it and it was great. I think they ended up eating there two or three times that week.

La Tapa goes on the list. I think we tried it on our very first trip which would have been 2001 and were not impressed. I am thinking a lot might have changed in 6 years.

If you liked the Viognier try RH Phillips EXP. It's affordable and very good if you ask me.

I loved reading your trip reports.

I was there when you and flip-flop were there but left Saturday the 1st. I am going to post my trip report soon. I didn't bring my camera to the beach and would like to grab a few of your pictures--they are fantastic.

It is so hard to leave!

I agree Marybeth, La Tapa is awesome. We went there 3 times and if we didn't have so much packing to do the last night and didn't have so many leftovers in the fridge, we would have gone there then as well. The food and service were excellent. Alex, the chef was incredibly passionate about her food as well as her restaurant. There were many wonderful wines, many by the glass which were kept at the perfect temperature and deoxygenated to prevent spoilage. Every Monday night they have a Jazz Trio playing in the corner of the bar. We sat both inside and out but I must say I enjoyed sitting inside the most to take in the sights, smells and sounds. Every night we were there I would take pictures of our appetizers. Problem was, by the time the dinner got to the table, I was so interested in eating that I would remember to take a picture only after i ate half my dish and by than it doesn't look pretty! Anyway-we cancelled our reservations at Stone Terrace just to eat there again (our third time).

Craig waited on us twice. He was great; if you go ask for him as your server. Everyone there made you feel like you were invited into their home. We were treated like members of the family (without the yelling and screaming)!
