Booking this villa for 1st week of July. American airlines is having a great price for Saturday to Saturday out of Boston (as low as $110 each way plus $60 in taxes). Looking for any feedback pro or con

thanks

This was our first choice for our June 2007 trip, but it was not available so we took Sea View. We based our selections on location and price and we had to have a nice pool!

Never stayed there but stayed next door at Leeward twice, years ago.Real quiet location.Sea Cay is a nice middle of the road villa.Great view of Rendevous Bay and you can watch the cruise ships plow by all the time.Heck go see Rich at Lime Inn and you might get a free meal for renting it.

Hey Shoemak38,

After years of camping at Cinn/Maho then transitioning in-doors to Gallows Point for a couple years, we finally decided to make the final upgrade to the villa scene. The first villa we stayed in was SeaCay. The owner showed us this villa during our honeymoon (1992) and we booked it for the following year and again in 2000. SeaCay is in a good location and it was very private and quiet. Villa Leeward and one other villa were next door in 2000 and we still had complete privacy. SeaCay is set up with three equal bedrooms with A/C and they each have great views from the showers. The bedroom above the Great Room is slightly larger than the two in the seperate pod, but the ones in the pod have private balconies. Each bedroom is entered from outside entrances. This villa is perfect for three couples or a family with older kids because of the external bedroom doors. We stayed here pre-kid with two other couples and had a blast and then with one other couple and our 5 year old in 2000. Our daughter stayed in our room off the main deck so that we could keep a watchful eye. The villa had everything we needed and we will probably stay there again!! Budman

There's at least one if not two threads on this villa, but probably quite awhile ago, so you'll need to do a search. I actually stayed there once, but all in all, not my favorite villa. I liked the location and the view was great. Certainly there's nothing wrong with it, so I don't want you to get the wrong idea, I guess it was just so-so for me. Check out the search and you'll find some others feelings on it. Hope this helps. Ali~

Did an online search however, nothing ever showed up. Renting this villa with my family. One boy in college, two daughters in catholic school. That's why I was looking for a middle of the road villa, this one appealed to me as a three bedroom villa. This way, the kids wouldn't fight. My fear is that the villa is old and outdated. So far I have heard nothing to make me be concerned in this matter.

Yo,

Me again, I know it's hard to choose. Have you already booked SeaCay? Have you been to the island before? I just looked at Seaviews photo's and everything looks identical to when we stayed there last "7 years ago" and back then it was identical to when we stayed there in 1993. The photo's are probably dated, BUT the owner is very proactive with his properties and I wouldn't think for a minute that he would let them deteriorate. Call Mark at Seaview Homes if you have concerns prior to renting and if you have already booked RELAX it will be great!! The bedroom set up sounds perfect for your group, put the kids in the seperate pod with equal rooms to avoid that argument. TV's in each bedroom for them to escape to. Budman

Hey there, me again. I hope this helps: In the search engine, you need to limit your search. So, instead of using the defaulted search, switch it to the bottom choice of (something like) use all terms. I was able to resurrect some of the older information on Sea Cay. I'm sorry that I've made you overthink this villa. It's perfectly fine and thankfully we do not all have the same taste; life would be so boring if we did. Good luck. Ali~

First saw the villa on the Carefree Getaways website, booked it with them. Going to St. John this year was kind of a fluke. Went to St. Thomas and stayed at Sapphire beach. Our youngest was nine months old at the time. Did a day trip over to St. John, unfortunately couldn't go to any of the beaches because of the kids. Spent the last eleven years doing the Disney, Skiing, and kid's sports routines during the winter (Still doing the kids sports). Was home sick the day before Thanksgiving trying to find something different to do than go to Myrtle Beach again this summer and saw the cheap airfares American Airlines had and the rest was history

Shoemak38,

I usually don't get to respond this much, my I.T. group at work doesn't allow it and I'm usually in the mountains on the weekends without a computer. I've enjoyed looking in on this site this weekend!! CONGRATS! the hard part is done, SeaCay will be perfect for your gang. The island has changed alot since you took your day trip from STT. It's a bit more built up in some places, however the beaches that you were unable to visit then haven't changed much over the years and that's the magic of this place. St John has some of the most beautiful spots I've ever set foot on. I started visiting in the early 80's and I have mentioned before that the reason I continue to return year after year is that I know I can find a place there that is exactly the same as it was 27 years ago.

Dude or Dudette? Myrtle Beach (Outer Banks) is great, I've been there dozens of times, but get ready to experience beaches that you will forever judge all others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
