What a beautiful sunset pic. I just love it. Perhaps you should revive the topic with those pics?
Have you seen the wild animal pics in my topic in the of topic forum? There is and will come more sunset pics too.

Yep thats a St John sunset as seen from Cruz Views.
I use a Cannon Powershot IS2 in the auto mode great camera 12X optical zoom 48X digital with Image stabilization. Can't get it anymoere this is the new model the IS3 . Should be even a better camera than the IS2. I'm guessing this price is starting to bottom out for the IS3 because I got the IS2 for $285 and that was about as low as it got unless ya buy refurbished.

The pic was probably taken at 12X as I don't use the digital zoom much as the quality starts to degrade.

Small world. I do have the Canon S3IS (I think you flipped the model #s).
Got it over a year ago for $319 for that 12x lens which is equivalent to like a 430mm zoom.
There is actually a S5 model available now with bigger LCD screen and other minor improvements.
Sometimes I wish I had a digital SLR but I think you'll agree these Powershots are more than adequate 95% of the time. Look at the quality of your shot even zoomed out to max.
Besides, been there done that with carrying/changing lenses on a 35mm Canon A1 for 20+ years. That A1 replaced the venerable AE and was the first with stopless electronic metering and 6 exposure modes.
