Hi, WE just got word that everyone's spring break is finally at the same time. We have always promised each other that we'd head to STJ if that ever happened SO....we need a place to stay for 3 families of 4. Any ideas? Preferably a villa and preferably near Coral Bay. Thanks for any suggestions. I can't wait to go back!!!

How many bedrooms and beds do you need and what is the budget? Pool? Hot tub?
We love looking for villas!

WE would need 6 bedrooms, possibly 7. And a pool and or hot tub would be awesome. We haven't thought about budget yet but I'm thinking if we split it 3 ways we could go a bit nicer then the bottom line.

I am not sure you will find one house with that many that is reasonable but here goes....
go to
www.cateredto.com
and check out these that are within walking distance to each other
Homes Within Walking Distance of one Another
Contentment (#7) and Altagracia (#31)
Villa Panache (#8) and Ti Moune (#11)
Aurora (#12) and Watercliff (#13)
Kallalo (#20) and Terrahawk (#34)
Crystal Seaview (#18) and Seagrass Cottage (#26)
or try these:

An idea might be to rent 2 villas w/i walking distance of each other. You have a little more room and privacy, can take turns hosting the gang, 2 pools, 2 washer/dryers, etc. A good choice if available is Cara Mia and Golden Dragon. I think they're different rental agents. My personal choice would be to contact Lori at Destination St. John (no I'm not an owner - YET!). She may be able to steer you in the right direction.

We have booked Tennis Villa and Cottage through
www.caribbeanvilla.com. Total of 7 bedrooms, plus a pool, hot tub, tennis court, a/c, and a pool table! Check it out, and good luck with the search!

Another big villa I have heard of is Great Expectations. I found a link to their website:

I think this house has been for sale for a while, so you may want to see if you can find some current reviews.

check out Beach villa through Artisticvillas.com . It is 5 bedroom, but we had 3 families there, for a total of 13. 2 of the rooms sleep 3, and we had a roll away. It is not in coral bay, but is right on the water in Great Cruz Bay. Had a ball!!!

Ixora on the Ajax Mountain above Coral Bay and convenient to the North Shore is one with 5 bedrooms that I've looked at and liked, but we've never stayed there. Caribbean Villas has some more villas on that ridgeline.
We have 24 people going down for Thanksgiving this year and booked three houses, none are walking distance to each other. They are all close enough for us, 2 in Chocolate Hole and one above Great Cruz Bay.
Cheers, RickG

Although it may be too small-5 bedrooms, I have always been intrigued by Island's End Villa. It is on the Coral Bay end of the island! Check the website
www.islandsendstjohn.com, maybe call the owner to see if it could work.

i agree with Canuknyc ! Tennis Villa & Tennis Cottage would be a perfect place ! between the 2 you have 7 bedrooms and 2 pools !!( a pool has recently been added to tennis cottage ) this property is beautiful, with easy access to cruz bay. for your large group the combination of the two would give you all the room you'll need w/out being on top of each other !!

We were down in May of this year with three families totalling ten adults and three children, and we liked it a lot. Didn't have the pool down at the cottage yet -- they were pouring the concrete the week we were there.
Here's your view from the patio, through the landscaping, out over Chocolate Hole:

And here's my favorite of the resident cats, who we named "aaah", because that was the noise he always made when he wanted attention:

i mentioned Tennis villa & Cottage for your group..though it would be perfect for you , it's not/near Coral Bay area. caribbean villas has a villa called Chateau Margot ( used to be Captains Quarters ) which is on Bordeaux Mnt., which puts you much closer to coral bay. beautiful villa, stunning views and 6 bedrooms. just thought i'd mention it to you....make it more confusing !!! good luck !

What about looking for two villas on Carolina Ridge, since you're interested in Coral Bay? There are some wonderful houses on Majestic Mile...Casa Luna, Skyridge, Villa Margharita, Sea Glass, In the Stars, Luminaria, Satinwood, Treehouse and more I can't think of. Another idea would be to look at Palladio's View and Sunrise.
Sounds like a fun search. Happy hunting.
