We would love to watch the NE Patriots on Sunday, 11/25 at a bar in Cruz Bay. Any suggestions?

Also, if we wanted to take a taxi from our villa (Great Expectations) to and from Cruz Bay, how would we do this? What hours do the taxis run?

So how does a "texascook" become a NE Patriots fan?

There was a post awhile back that said the Fishtrap bar had some new TVs; not sure if anyone has checked it out.

Skinny Legs is an option; and I believe there is a local NE Patriot contingent that gather there.

On previous trips, we've watched football at the Beach Bar (no sound) or at our villa (not very good reception).

Go Pats -

enjoy your trip,

The absolute BEST place to watch a Patriots game will be Skinnys but it is in Coral bay.

As far as Cruz Bay, there are TV's at the Banana Deck, Quiet Mon, Beach Bar.

As far as taxi's go, I strongly recommend you have a car (I assume you do and maybe just don't want to drink and drive during the game) Taxi's generally don't like to do villa runs as the roads are, more often than not, difficult to navigate and are pot holed so they tend to avoid them.

Hope this helps

As far as Taxi's go when we were ther last Feb with 16 People, even though we had a couple rental cars, when we went out to party we used a cab. If have found on St John and Saint Thomas you get a better response if you use the same cab and driver. Tip them well and call them when you need them and they will come. Assuming you staying on the Coral Bay Side of the island you will definately want to schedule this kind of hting in advance. The cab driver that we used is Abba Meade he owns a large cab/truck that will accomidate up to eighteen people. We used him serveral times thoughout the week. He is very profesional never tried to rip us off and was great at setting up to drop us off at a given time then returning at a specified time to pick us back up for the return trip. His phone numbers are 340-643-6246 Cell or 340-779-4779

I think there is a little sports bar up above the Rum Hut or upstairs between the Rum Hut and The Beach Bar. It has the video poker games and quite a few sports channels. Hope it helps!

Thanks for all of the responses. (I am originally from Andover, MA, now living in Texas, and I love to cook!!)

We are spending one week in Cruz Bay and one week in Coral Bay. We do have cars, but thought that night time partying would merit a taxi.

I was going to suggest Skinny's for the ball game, although Woody's also seems to have a large contingent of NE fans. (I think several on their staff are from up that way.)

We debated getting a cab one night when we thought we wouldn't have a DD. I'm not sure where Great Expectations is, but Paradise Taxi (340-714-7875) were willing to pick us up as long as we could give them very explicit directions as to where we were (turn right at the Dumpster by the Westin, 1st drive after the 6th speed bump, for example).

So, does anyone know if the Fishtrap did install new TVs and carries sporting events?

When we were at the Fish Trap in May they had the TVs going in the bar. Everything looked new.

Watch it at the Beach Bar, How can you beat watching your favorite team with your favorite drink while listening to the small waves lapping onto the beach?
