Ok, I don't know if any of you are like me but I have foods that I tend to ONLY eat on road trips or while traveling.
Car trips = doritos. Don't know why. I don't eat them otherwise really. But if I know there is a long drive ahead I need them.
For flights I always try to be good and pack a bag of nuts and a piece of fruit but for my departure tomorrow somehow a pack of peanut chews made it into the bag.
Anyone else have any traveling foods that they rarely eat otherwise or am I just weird? Don't answer that.
I know this is random and off-topic, but its quiet here today and I need something to get me through the rest of the day!

I always bring snacks on long trips ... peanuts or crackers etc... you never know if you will have time between planes. We always have to change plane.
Sorry I cant answer your question though ' Am I Weird?' Maybe someone else could help you with that.

Car trips = Vanilla Iced Coffee from McDonalds
Plane trips = Sandwiches! I get so hungry planes. I usually buy a ready made one at the airport. I like Bacardi and diet cokes on the plane too!
Boat trips = more sandwiches, chips and more bacardi and diet cokes

I LOVE vacation eating because it's an escapism from my everyday life. I'm pretty health conscious and try to keep my fat and cals in check. I try to eat high fiber and whole grains and work out at the gym 5 times a week. While I don't deprive myself (like the White Chocolate Carmel Macadamia Nut Cheesecake at at our new Cheesecake Factory), I still try to avoid bad eating habits. Weekends are mine to enjoy but I still don't completely fall off the wagon.
Well when I'm on vacation, it's all about live and let eat! At home I eat to live and stay healthy. On vacation I live to eat and eat I do. Everything my little tastebuds and tummy desires.
My one crazy, strange, non everyday thing that I get right before every travel day are those insane Oatmeal Raisin cookies from McDonalds. Cookie lovers out there, have you people tried them? OMG! They have got to be the BEST freaking oatmeal cookie I've ever had! And when they are warm out of the oven; Oh my Gawd! WAY better than hot Krispy Cremes!!!
I also have an occasional travel day fling with Carmel Frappachinos...

I took Cheezits with me on the plane to STT. Those and wheat thins seem to be vacation snacks for me. (I paid $9 for a box of wheat thins and cheese to eat at the beach one day, too.)

Starbucks Venti no-whip mocha for the plane- always! Of course there are still one or two airports in the world that don't have a Starbucks.... Otherwise, I never drink coffee.

Here's omething FF didn't KNOW about me...
MOON PIES.
Don't know why but when I see them on the road I have to get them. Just about any truck stop or gas station has them.
Also Bugles (Sp?) (corn crunchy things that are shaped like a cone hat). When I was little I used to put them on the end of my fingers and pretend they were fingernails... HA!!
And yes FF, you are weird!! But that has nothing to do with your eating habits adn everything to do with the company you keep!!!
HUGS!

I always have a large bag of M&M's with peanuts on the plane with me. They last me a long time and are my snack for the boat. Sometimes I make special cookies for our coffee after dinner on the boat.
