We'll will be on island the early part of December. I would LOVE to get some/most of my Christmas shopping done while there.

I know once we return home I will be too down to be a good shopper.

My list consists mostly of seven grandkids, ages 2 thru 10, 3 adult kids and spouses. Any recommendations?

St John Spice for the adults. There are so many great things there, not just spices.

patr, just found the web sites for St. John Spice.

As was said so much more than the name implies. It's really fun shopping.

Also, I really liked the folks at R&I Patton Jewlers in Mongoose junction, if you are in the market. I indulged in a necklace there. They are shipping it to me because I needed some changes to the chain it came with but there was no charge for the changes or the shipping. Really nice selection in there.

I always buy a lot of gifts at the Canvas Factory in Mongoose Junction. They have nice bags, duffles, hats, purses and backpacks. You'll be able to find some things for children there.

I forgot about the Canvas factory. I might need a new backpack in April.

I do a ton of Xmas shopping when visiting STJ.

I go to:
STJ Spice,
the T-shirt place at Shipwreck Landing (for the teenagers),
Awl Made Here at Skinny Legs (handmade leather goods),
the other shops at Skinny Legs (got a great pirate puppet set),
the little gifty shops in Cruz Bay (I think one is Dreams & Dragonflies?),
the local art/craft galleries on St Thomas
the fleamarket on St Thomas,
etc...

There are tons of places to shop for Xmas!

I have 1 month and 2 weeks to go!

We used to pick up hand painted shirts from Deborah Designs, now gone. I was looking for a replacement last year and found one. I think the place is called Jumbie Mon. It's a small place next to Donkey Diner in Coral Bay. Interesting batik style hand painted clothing. I foget the proprieters name, but she was interesting and helpful. I picked up some gifts and wish I had gotten a shirt for myself. It's on the list this year.

Cheers, RickG

I love buying stuff at Pink Papaya. I have a tradition of buying a hand painted Christmas ornament whenever I go. They're fun and dated with the year.
