Rain, Rain go away!!

I know it's raining in STJ so I was wonder if all you forumities who are on island right now could put up some signs that tell the skeeters to stay away. If I remember correctly, 7-10 days after a rain they come. That will be right when SOTB arrives

I'm a big enough skeeter magnet without the rain so please make them "come not"!!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated
XOXO

Hello, bugblu,
Stay away from bananas. And, yes, stay away from booze. Mosquitoes love both of these in your blood
Also, see if you can find citronella essential oil and apply this foot to knee.
"Badger Balm" has this and other fragrances. So you might find that, too. (Health food or outdoor shops.)

Hey Bug
They love me too
I've tried everything from Skin So Soft, Vit B, no bananas, rubbing with Bounce dryer sheet, patches, Burts Bees oil, even Deet .......all no good
(didn't try no alcohol, I mean, what's the point in that
)
If I am at a restaurant a napkin soaked in gin is great and really works and the other two things that work the best on me 80% of the time are the Repel Lemon Eucalyptus oil and the Shaz (I think it's Shaz - Ruth sells it) mosquito oil. So far they are the best but being an oil they are, well oily (who whould have thunk that
)
Give them a try - good luck 7-10 days from now I'm not leaving the house - period so I'm stocking up on alcohol (any excuse, right
)

The Body Deli in Mongoose Junction sell a Thai Lemongrass body wash that is a natural repellent and seemed to work on our last trip or you can go to bodydeli.com and order it to take with you.

Bug,
I am bringing some bug spray with a high DEET % and I think maybe I should get more. They usually don't bother me, but now that I said that, of course they will. Add Gin to our Mixology order!

So maybe you could wear Gin as a cologne? Rinse your hair in it? I wonder if that would work. You'd smell like a bum, but you might not get bit!

Hey Pia:
I use Shaz all the time!!! It's the only thing that seems to work for me. I have always gotten it from Ruth or the little swim shop on the bottom floor of Mongoose!!
Great minds.....

Does Ruth still have those battery operated skeeter swatters in stock? Enough for all of us 10 days from now?
I thought we would need them in August after the rains from Dean, but there were very few bugs. Hope we wont be sorry now.

Hey, no rain until noon today. We were lounging at the villa and the blender started at 11. Rain? I think its still raining... SPF 100, no tan lines with live Pink Floyd from 1972.
Missin' you, Bug. See ya Saturday.
Cheers, RickG

Rain or no rain, that's still a pretty nice view.

That was my first thought too -- where is Rick staying this time?!? He'll have to remind us.
We kept citronella candles around the villa, and that really seemed to help. They added ambiance too.
