Anybody have any suggestions on where to buy a beach hat?

Naturegirl, aren't you in NYC?

I've bought a few hats at Orva on E. 86th St.

Of course, they may have "winter" hats now; hasn't been cold, though!

Actually Cat, I went to cooking school in NYC recently and my husband works down there so I am there pretty often. We use to live in Brooklyn but have moved to New Jersey.
Seems all clothing/gear etc has changed over to fall/winter stuff. I think the stores start getting in bathing suits and other resortwear by December. I'm really just looking for a cute white cotton hat with a small brim. I have been looking on line but haven't really found anything I like yet. I'm also looking for some cute sundresses. Can't seem to find many of them either.

Cooking school! Your DH must be a happy man :-)

All the stores seemed to close up their bathing suit areas. Bloomies says they'll get bathing suits back in in the beginning of November, for cruise season.

How about this for a hat?

Pretty hard to find a sun dress now. They'll be out as soon as you get back!

Maybe Venus swimwear or Victoria's Secret?

He's particularly happy because I went to the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health so he is eating really healthily and looks even better than he did when I met him!

Thanks so much for the info. Love the hat and they have some really cute things on the Venus site. Hopefully, I can have them delivered before I go away.

Bloomies-my favorite!!!

Try the sporting good shops in the golf or tennis section.

Hey, naturegirl,

That's exactly where I thought you were going to cooking school! I've been fascinated by it -- but I have no time and just cook by what I think is going to work. This week it's been stir fry with Swiss chard, shitakes, spinach, garlic, bok choy and asparagus in different combinations with semi-firm or firm tofu; all starting with toasted sesame oil.

I am so glad I could help with your shopping! :-)

Have a wonderful time.

I'm a BIG fan of the Life Is Good ballcaps, especially the graphic caps. The hats, like their clothing, feel broken in and I love the company's philosophy. It just seems totally STJ!
