I know that I am truly blessed to have two beautiful daughters but man alive - TEENAGERS SHOULD BE OUTLAWED!!!

How did all you folks that have older children get through those late teen years? My almost 17 year old knows everything, can do everything, and needs no one. Sometimes I wonder how the heck I'm going to survive to raise the younger one (she's only 4)!

The only thing I found that's worked up until now is PAINKILLERS - lots of them

Oh, I was hoping this "difficult stage" would be ending soon. My oldest is almost 14. I have a younger one too (he's 5), and one in between. She really wears me out sometimes! I've found the temporary painkiller cure too, thought tonight it's going to be wine. I can't wait to hear about this year's SOTB, and can't wait until next year! (#OTB)

I have one teenager, a 14 yr old "boy-man". It's those snotty remarks that make me want to smack him sometimes...but all in all he's an amazing kid who has defied all the odds, so I just take a deep breath and wait for this stage to pass! I remember what I did to my parents, and that keeps things in perspective too.

Don't kid yourself. I thought it was the terrible two's then it was the impossible three's. Now I have people telling me how they move home when their 30. I'm beginning to wonder if there is enough rum in this world?

I've got a 24 and a 22 year old. Good news, the 24 year old has acquired common sense! Actually the 22 year old has more or less always had it, didn't give us as many headaches, but the smart ass remarks just keep coming. At least they are both off the payroll... pretty much... 22 year old is a grad student and may need a little financial assistance to continue funding his Roth and still graduate debt free... good problem to have...

When people ask me how old I am, I ask if they want to know my chronological age, or my equivalent kid rearing age. I figure you get double for each of the teen years, so my equivalent age is my chronological + 2 * 7...

It's ok FF, according to Bug and KYGirl, you can give them painkillers.

I'd start stocking up now, if I were you.

I am thinking if they are pains in the a$#, I won't feel so bad about leaving them behind when I go to STJ. It sure is cheaper!

Funny you should bring this up tonight. My 17 year old, almost 18, who thinks she's going on 25 has spent the entire night bugging me about getting her belly button pierced. Yes, we foolishly agreed to this if she could bring up her gpa. (Sometimes the bribery/incentives come back to bite you; ouch! (Though she did make the improvement.) So, of course she needs to get it done immediately. (And yes she does need me for this because a parent's authorization is required, though not usually.) The idea of improving on the gpa was for the benefit of her college applications, but since she knows everything already, I'm not sure why she even needs college (lol). Ali~

Set those expectations high! If you dont expect much, you wont get much. Its a full time job, that's for sure.

We fight that fight as well. I told her she was able to get it pierced if I pierced it She decided to wait until she was 18. Smart girl.

This week it's the fact that she is going back out with the boy who broke up with her last week (a day before the Homecoming Dance I might ad) and made her cry for 5 days. Now that she's finally done crying he wants her back. She just "can't believe" why I don't want him around here anymore. Well geeze honey, I just don't know!!!
