Hi everyone,
Our trip report will be coming very soon. We had a wonderful, 12 day honeymoon, on St. John. It was all like a dream and trying to remember everything. Really it all went so fast and we were so sad to leave.
We need a couple of suggestions for painkiller recipes. Do you mix everything together in a cocktail shaker including the rum or add that last?
Thanks,
Don and Carrie
PS
There were lots of jellyfish. Very strange.

I find up here where it is colder that I have to warm up the cream of coconut to melt the gloopy part before I mix it. I use an equal blend of Pussers and Capt Morgan's Spiced and mix with equal parts of pineapple juice and OJ. When I get it just right (usually stronger than is appropriate) then I pour it over ice. I skip the 151 topper as a gesture of friendship to my liver (or substitute the spiced rum as a topper. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

I've done both. I kind of prefer to mix everything but the rum, then add the rum while mixing the drink, because that's how I watched the bartenders do it on JVD. I believe there was a post several months ago that mentioned the cascading pour, if you are making several drinks at once.
And definitely add a generous sprinkle of freshly ground nutmeg! Cheers!!

Hi!
We make it by the pitcher full and keep it in the fridge.
24 oz Orange Juice - No pulp
12 oz Mango Juice
12 oz Pineapple Juice
12 oz or 1 can coconut cream
Add rum (Cruzan Mango or Light) and nutmeg to whatever your taste is.
On the coconut cream, we put it in a large very hot glass of water to melt it before adding to the pitcher.
Stays good in the fridge for about a week (if it lasts that long.)
Boy that sounds good!
Maybe I need one.

This is from islandtimes.net
"COCKTAILS & CONCOCTIONS"
THE SOGGY DOLLAR PAINKILLER
1 OUNCE PUSSER'S DARK RUM
1 OUNCE CREAM OF COCONUT
4 OUNCES PINEAPPLE JUICE
1 OUNCE OF ORANGE JUICE
BLEND OR SHAKE TOGETHER ALL INGREDIENTS AND SERVE OVER ICE. GARNISH WITH A CHERRY OR ORANGE SLICE, BUT ALWAYS SPINKLE WITH A GENEROUS AMOUNT OF FRESH NUTMEG.
I think it is close, but a tad too sweet.

I was told that Pusser's recipe is the closest to Soggy Dollar's but I still haven't found any that are just right compared to theirs. (Skinny's pineapple painkillers were almost as good as Soggy Dollar's.) Both Woody's and The Beach Bar had recipes on their sites. While they weren't as good as Soggy's, they were good.
