shorty wet suits

We have the shorty wet suits and were wondering if we will need them for snorkeling. Does anyone ever get cold if they are in the water for too long. Is it worth it to bring them along?

Unless you are realy could natured I don't think you will need them for snorkling. I dove the Rhone at seventy feet with just a 3 mil skin on in February. On the surface you should be fine with normal swimwear. If I was going to wear anything snorkling I would look for a rash gaurd top. They have uv properties as well as a slight thermal gaurd and will protect you from minor bumps and scrapes.
I saw your question about the housing as well. It is not difficult to remove the camera from the housing. You just have to be careful with the O ring that seals it as sand and debris can cause leaks. On the beach I would just leave it in the housing and use it like normal. As long as the lens cover built into the housing is not fogged it will take pictures as well in the housing as it does out. Just keep it cover from the sun when not in use above water as the housing can work like a magnifing glass in the sun.
