I got this idea from Flip Flop's condensed list. Where do you start, how long does it take and is it up and down hills or flat? Thanks for any info!

If you leave from the Caneel Bay parking lot, Honeymoon Beach is a 10 minute stroll along paved and unpaved golf cart paths. Solomon Bay is a walk up over a small ridge from there. I haven't walked this from Cruz Bay in about 6 years.

Thanks RickG...I think we can handle that one.

You can also start at the top of the Lind trail just beyond Estate Lindholm. I think there was parking for a few cars.

It is about a ~15-20 minute downhill hike to Honeymoon - narrow, but doable carryiing "stuff". Unless of course, it is following torrential rains, then it is a downhill slide and not a lot of fun

The Caneel trail is definitely the easier.

We did that hike from Cruz Bay. As people have pointed out, you can start at various places. We started at the beginning of the trail behind the VI National Park Building. The is a small sign that marks the trail. It took us about 45 minutes and is a mile or a little less. While it is not a difficult hike, I don't think I would want to drag along beach chairs. There is an upper and lower trail. We took the lower trail. The upper trail will take you up to Lind Point and then back down. Not sure if that takes longer or not. We weren't quite sure where we were going at the time and were just hoping that we didn't have to backtrack to get to Honeymoon Beach. We did not. Next time, if we were to plan on spending the day there and bringing more "stuff", I would park at Caneel and walk from there. Hubby wants to do that hike again but there are others I want to try too. One way or another, those beaches are worth checking out. Solomon is so beautiful. There was only one other person there when we went.

I hiked it in flip flops a few years ago from Caneel. We went to both beaches and I had no problems at all! I don't remember how long it took. I don't remember it being very long though.

Done all three routes and Caneel is the easiest at least to Honeymoon hit some hills for Solomon. If ya like to bring alot of stuff just set up at Honeymoon and snorkel around to Solomon to check it out. One of my faves for snorkeling tons of nice fish!
