The 6 folks for our Halloween trip are getting together tonight to talk about our trip and do our planning. We are about 50/50 on our group - half want to hang loose and the other half want to go-go-go. Funny, the three couples are split between the loungers and the go-gos. So, striking a balance is tough. No newbies this trip

Just thinking out loud, but I think I'll propose the following:

Saturday - arrive and break in the villa
Sunday - Beach/Snorkel and Sunday Jazz at Beach Bar
Monday - Beach/Snorkel
Tuesday - Palm Tree Charters to BVI, Woody's-Beach Bar-Quiet Mon
Wednesday - Beach/Villa Gravity & Halloween Costumes
Thursday - Beach/Villa Gravity, date night dinner out
Friday - Vie's Beach
Saturday - Walk of woe for our friends

I'll fit some hikes in there and some morning excursions while the sleepers sleep.

Saturday and Sunday my girl and I will be on our own with more of the same, including wetting down SOTB, beaching with friends and Sunday Jazz at the Beach Bar.

Obviously, I'm one of those people that wants to do everything and start early. Is this list of things too much for the loungers?

Looks go to me - wish I was part of your gang. I'm a big jazz fan - so there would be nothing better then to be at the Beach Bar with a cold one and jazz filling my head.

Rick - I know what you mean - and our group is only two!

Since it's our first time to stay on island I want to make sure that we get a good sample of all she has to offer, but want it to a relaxing time as well.

To her credit Leslie has said that she's leaving all planning, or lack of planning up to me.

I've decided not to make any advance reservations beyond the villa and car rental, so that we're free to go whenever, and do whatever we're led to do.

We MIGHT:
Rent a dinghy
Take a daysail
Arrange a massage at the villa

We WILL:
Snorkel
Hike
Check out Cruz Bay
See Coral Bay
Lime

I'll be cooking dinner at the Villa each night (except the first night possibly) so we'll only have lunch out for the most part.

Our stay is Monday-Monday, so we'll check out the Beach Bar Jazz Jam the day before our walk of woe.

I'm with you there George! Since we still have two weeks to go we had a pretty fair substitute for the above as a time filler last night.

We saw the Yellowjackets with Eric Merienthal sitting in, at a small hotel convention center last night. We had the jazz, had the cold one, just waiting for the beach...

Rick G, I was the planner for our newbie group. Our days and nights were similar to what you have planned, except one day we went over to STT. I heard some early morning grumbling...but when we got to our destination for the day, everyone was so appreciative of all the planning I did. No one had to think! I told them what to wear and what to bring and all was well. I bet you will find the same with your group of non newbies, hope so anyway.

Your plan looks a lot like ours, we are doing our BVI trip in the middle of the week also (February 08) We have half "go-goers" and half "whatever you plan is fine because we are sheep"

I think we will try to hit the Beach Bar jazz. We will also get on island on a Saturday and I think the group will be ready to hit the town by Sunday. I suspect half will chill at the bar (myself included) and the other half will stroll town.

Some planning is always good, with some flexibility of course.

Wetting down is rather a Navy term. It means providing appropriate assistance in getting your drink on! I figure we'll run into y'all at least once and the meeting should be well lubricated.

Hello from a newbie! Your plan looks good to me. It looks like we will be there about the same time (we get in the 27th of THIS MONTH - woo woo!). I spent so much time looking at villas that I'm only now looking at actual stuff to do! The only thing I have planned so far is a birthday surprise on the 31st for him. Yes, he's a Halloween baby.

Rick...I won't need any assistance in getting my drink on. But this reference to us being well lubricated is interesting. I'm glad Mr. Cyp doesn't read the forum.

My 2 cents.......planning is half the fun and I'm not a lounger, so you game plan seems perfectly doable to me.

Your schedule looks good to me -- you've built in *lots* of beach time, and that's what it's all about.

I'm going to be over on STT and my schedule is packed with beaching, scuba-ing, shopping and restauranting.

Wish I had a scuba nanny -- the cleaning of the gear takes up good beach time. Just once I said let's not bother actually *washing* our suits. Boy, did they stink And no matter what, you still have to clean your bc and then get ALL the water out.

However, I am not complaining. I'm grateful for every minute in the VI.

Seems like you've got just enough to relax but not have to scramble. Scrambling for the "what are we going to do today" can be just as stressful as a packed trip. Way to go for balance, Rick.
