FYI re credit cards on JVD & Xray of film cameras

Last month, one of our disposable underwater film cameras went through the checked bag X-ray machine on STT and was wiped clean.
Those things must be pretty strong, plus I believe the high ISO film in those cameras is more susceptible to X ray. The other one that went through carry on X ray was OK.
Safest yet for film is to request hand inspection (coming and going) just like back in the old 35mm days.
Item 2 is we charged our lunch and drinks at Soggy Dollar during day trip to JVD. Bartender had trouble with machine, swiping it several times. Mgr got it to work, assured us the other attempts did not go through.
Low and behold, bill comes last week with 3 extra charges. Now going through dispute resolution process with CC company.
Realize that this can happen anywhere, but may be more likely in a semi-remote place like JVD where telecommunication service may be spotty on occasion (?)
