After seeing our pictures, a friend (and his wife) of my sister wants to visit the caribbean and specifically St. John for the first time. She has asked me to help them with some of the basics. Can anyone recommend a one bedroom in the Cruz Bay or Chocolate Hole area? They want to go for a week in February and spend around a thousand dollars for the rental. I told them this probably won't be possible since it's high season and most things are rented and the cost will be higher than they want. It doesn't have to have a pool or hot tub.
They also want to visit the Baths. Who would you all recommend for a day sail?
Thanks!
Denise

I can recommend a 1 bedroom cottage that is perfect for two but it's $2300 in February. It has a hot tub but no pool and is in Chocolate Hole.

We've stay at Periwinkle through Caribean Villas and had a blast. It's >$2K during winter. Take a look at VRBO.com, they are direct rentals by owners, so will run 25% cheaper. At that (very low) price, you are looking at an apartment in a house or a guest house over towards Coral Bay or Fish Bay.

Things are a lot cheaper before 12/15 and after 4/15. Good luck!

Thanks for all the suggestions, some of these look like possibilities. I think we are going to try and shot for somewhere a little closer to Cruz Bay rather than Coral Bay.
I have checked out the rentals by owners, did this last year and saved over a thousand bucks a week!
What about daytrips to Virgin Gorda?
Thank you!

we stayed at Blue Aweigh last November. Highly recommend! It is a 1 bedroom/1ba. Avaiable through carefree getaways.
Or, they also have their own website, just google it.
you can email me if you have questions.
