I suggest a trip to STJ. Is it wrong that my first thought re: the pool closing was "Yes, now I can pack our bags for STJ!"
2 months & 1 week to go.......

We went to Ocean City. It's no STJ, but it was time away from work...and the teenager! It was a lovely weekend with great weather and lots of relaxation on the beach.

We're going to Cozumel but would much rather be going back to St John!

Where are you staying in Cozumel? It's not STJ but it has it's own charm. Have you been before? I could handle a few days in Cozumel. Have a great time!!! The water is absolutely beautiful!!

OMG - your pool closed already? I thought it was still in the 90s in the DC area? You need to appeal for a weather-based pool closing, not a date-based closing. What a bummer, especially with young kids. That pool is prime entertainment.

No blues here. I like all of the seasons.
Besides, it can stay warm still for awhile.
September is beautiful!
The kids are back in school so the house stays a little cleaner during the day.
Plus there is STJ to look forward to in less than 2 months!!

yep, all the pools around here close on Labor day

Major bummer. Would be nice to be there now in this 90 degree heat. I think it started when the lifeguards were all high school kids. No labor force, no open pool!

The pools are all closed here in Kentucky too. The latest that they stay open is Labor Day, and we are still having temperatures in the 90's as well. It looks like it may cool off late next week, with highs in the 70's by Thursday. I don't really have the blues yet, but I will when it becomes too cold to get out.

Labor Day is the cut off around here too! I think flip flop has something there! It certainly isn't the weather!

I can't wait for Summer to be over! It's been too freaking hot here for too long. We finally had a break in our temps this week and it's down to a pleasant 80-85ish. Bring on Winter I say cause as soon as Spring is here, so is our return to STJ!!!
We closed all our pools as well just this past week. I think ours had more to do with something called Cryptosporidium. A nasty virus caused from little kids pooping in the pools. They shut us all down and even before they shut us down, no kids under the age of 5 were allowed in any public pools. People aren't bringing those swimmy diapers for their little ones. Kind of a bummer cause it was still swim weather up until just the last couple of days.

The teenage son and I are off to the Savannah area on Wednesday. Thursday we go with sis and her BF to St. Augustine FL for 3 days, the back to Georgerrr for one more day. This will be our 3rd and last trip of "summer". Our pool closed Labor day weekend while we were at the beach

so we are looking forward to Sis's back yard pool and the one in St. Augustine!
