I've learned from the archives that both 2catlimit and papabou have stayed at "Temptress" and that 2catlimit's hobby is determining google earth coordinates for villas.... Can anyone give me directions or coordinates as to where this is? We've stayed at Ambiance, which I believe may be somewhere near it, but I can't pick out Temptress. Thx!

sl,

temp is on upper rockridge rd currently obscured by cloud cover on goggle earth. not sure where ambiance is located but the views are similar to temp and next door neighbor, treasure ridge. after the hard switchback to left going up rrrd, lapapaya is on right and allesandra on then left. rd then does hard switch back to right and on your right will be in order, new villa under const in 12/06, tr ridge, temptress and solaris. not sure which villas are on left.

hope this helps.

go to http://maps.live.com/ works a lot like google e but not as many features and you'll start out with rd map of stj once you get to that area. once you find upper rockridge, click on "aerial" and changes to great view. blue roof is tridge and red roof is solaris and temptress is long white spread between.

getting closer?

Hey Sunlover,

I think you've probably got it.
Ambiance is on your left, the driveway to Villa Intimasea is on your right, then La Papaya on your right.
Going up the hill, Allesandra is on your left, switchback to the right, Treasure Ridge is on your right, then Temptress now named Magic View, then Solaris, then a house I haven't identified, then Inn Paradise, then Mar de Amores is on the left, the last house on the road. I don't know 2 of the 3 houses on the left above Temptress. (Anybody?) The middle one is Sea Forever.
Okay, I got carried away there. :) Hope it wasn't TMI.

Thinking about staying there?
We enjoyed it.
This is what I wrote about it in response to someone's question.
Temptress is a very pleasant house. It is not a newer house but in good condition and well maintained. It is set up with each room being a separate pod, a completely separate building. The bedrooms are at opposite ends, the one with two twins being closest to Cruz Bay, and set slightly back. When you walk down the sidewalk to enter, you can use the front door to the living room, or walk straight ahead between the buildings to the deck. Facing toward the ocean, the guest room is on your right, living room on your left. Continuing to the left, the kitchen is up three steps. On the same level is the master bedroom, I think it is actually attached to the kitchen but the bedroom has an exterior door. The kitchen is as nice as it looks, recently remodeled, granite counters, nice appliances, washer/dryer. The master has a great view from the bed. The bathrooms have been remodeled as well, with granite counters. The master bath is huge, a little dark, but nice. There is a boulder coming through the wall that was left in place and built around. The pool is the only thing I found disappointing. It is small which is okay, but there is a shallow end about 2 feet deep, great for sitting and there's a deeper end 4 feet, but alot of the pool is taken up by the incline between the 2 depths and the incline is sort of steep. Kind of a mountain goat thing going on moving from one end to the other.
Each room has really good a/c. The view from the whole house is really nice. You can see the lights of St Thomas at night. We could hear the people staying in La Papaya below us very clearly when they were being a little goofy and drunk. You can also hear the people in Solaris at the master bedroom
end of the house. Their pool is on that side. We were not bothered by any of this though. Not a major issue at all.

If you have any other questions, I'm happy to help if I can. 8) (Papabou's really good at this, too.)
