The search continues.
Sorry if I am being a pest. Does anyone have any info. on Terrahawk villa. We will probably be two couples. Can't tell from pictures if main room is small. There are also no pictues of the kitchen.
If someone has stayed there I would appreciate info.
As for latitude villa, reviews look good. Has anyone stayed there recently?'

We stayed at the villa next door in 2005 and 2006. The cleaning crew let us walk around indside Terrahawk as we were interested in it as a future rental.
I remember the bedrooms being equal with nice showers. I think the showers may have been somewhat open to the outside.
The great room is much larger than the pictures. I think it would be a very comfortable house for two couples.
The kitchen runs along the rear of the house and I remember sky lights and large windows along the length of the wall. There is a long bar area with four bar stools. I can't remember specifics about the appliances.
The location is great, just down the driveway is the entrance to Gibney Beach.
The same people own the house next door and I can say that the house we rented was very well maintained. The only reason we are not renting it again is becuase of the child-age restriction.
From what I gathered from the rental agent, the owners spend a considerable time at the houses.

We will be down in the Klein Bay area at Oleander from Aug to Aug 29. I am always snooping around at other villas while on St John so I will try to get in/around/or through those places to give you the skinny on them.
Doesnt anyone talk about Le Tete Rouge anymore? That is one beautiful house with great views and wonderful furnishings.
We were jst a click away from renting Sago Palms for this trip. Unfortunately, Mia, it closes in September. A fellow forumite was kind enough to send us her personal shots from that house and OMG the view is to die for. Also we almost did Kalalloo, the house just next door to Terrahawk, but thought it might be too buggy this time of year, even with the mosquito magnets.
I think we will be quite content with the kids at Oleander. Its in a beautiful spot there on Tendevous/Klein.

We were the very first to stay at Leeward villa after it was completed.Except for the owners. We enjoyed it so much we went back 5 months later.Leeward is a very nice villa and Cindy and Paco are about as good as it gets on the island. One extremely large master BR and 3 more good size BRs.The master bath is wonderful with a double head shower which made for some interesting showers with my wife. The kitchen is state of the art and the furnishings were spectacular.
The only problem we had was that the great room and kitchen stayed fairly hot, even at night.
Security is easy because all bedrooms are entered thru one door which leads to all rooms and easily locked if you do that.
It will always be special to us because it was our first time to SJ.

Have you considered Blue Tang?

Blue Tang (through Catered To) is perfect for two couples. It has an enormous great room, and is close to Cruz Bay. The views are to die for. I can't say enough good things about Blue Tang.

Leeward is on my "super short list" too! It looks so beautiful, and I love that location.
Mlke, how is the pool at Leeward? It's kind of hard to tell how big/deep it is in the Carefree getways video.

Our family stayed at Terrahawk and would recommend it for 2 couples. The home is only about 800 square feet, but the bedrooms are fairly equal and the house is very well maintained. The living area is small with maybe a couch and a chair, and there is a table with seating outside which is where I spent my mornings enjoying the view. Nights outside were dark, and we preferred spending them at dinner in town. If we were going to opt for meals and long evenings at the home, I'd probably choose another villa. The location and access to the beaches is great, one of the most convenient on the island outside of Caneel.
We've also rented Blue Tang, and while we loved the house, the bedrooms and especially the bathrooms were not equal. I would still rent it with another couple as I preferred the bedroom with the not as nice bathroom - it has a better view. It's a great villa for hanging out and grilling in the evenings. The views at sunset and at night are terrific.

When I spoke to Frank Barnako about Blue Tang a few months ago he said they renovated the bathroom that formerly had the tub in it and during the renovation they removed the tub. Is that the not-so-nice bathroom you were referring to Cindy?

Yes, that's the bathroom. Glad to know he renovated it.

Liamsaunt,
The pool is probably 6' deep at the end.Not very big but was adequate for us two.I would have to guess it was 15-20' long.Spent many a day just hanging on the rail staring out at the bay.But then it was our first trip to SJ and we just stared at alot of things then.Couldn't believe how beautiful it was and why we had never come here before.I do want to stress again how warm it can be in the main house again. If that bothers you,you might want to take it off your short list.Other than that it is a wonderful villa.
If you stay there look over to your left next door and look at Casa Del Sol.Our alltime favorite. We stayed there about 5 years in a row,but alas the owner took it off the rental market about 3 years ago.
How inconsiderate of them considering how much $'s I had invested there.Ha Ha
Lattitude

When we were down in June we took a good look at Lattitude from the outside only. Appears to be a very nice villa and we really liked the design, a bit more modern and somewhat different than the typical villa.
It sits one road back from the water looking out to Ditliff point. I suspect the views would be excellent.
We've stayed nearby in the past at Opar and the breezes on this side of the Island are great. I suspect you would find Lattitude to be an excellent choice.
We stayed at Sea Stone, Vivacations handles this home, and it was outstanding. Great for 2 couples with masters on each end of the house. Sea Stone sits directly above the water on a cliff. It was a wonderful house.
good luck,
Scott

Mike, I've been drooling over this villa for a long time! I was bummed to find out it was no longer available. I was ready to snap that one up quick. No questions needed. Very nice!
