Hello everyone-
I'm new to this list. It was suggested that I join this list by someone on another service, so I hope you can help.

My fiance and I are trying to plan a destination wedding in St. Thomas, April 26ish, 2008. We don't expect a lot of guests, but we'll probably have at least 10-15. Keeping them in mind, we're trying to find nice accomodations that won't break their banks and that they'll like. We're considering the all-inclusive packages at Bolongo Bay or the hotel managed condos (is that right?) at Secret Harbour. Are there any suggestions as to which is better? Or are than any other choices we're overlooking? I'm working with a travel agent, but I want some opinions of people who have been there frequently.
Thanks so much!

Secret Harbour has nicer beach, better restaurant (Blue Moon), and some of the best snorkeling on STT, plus I believe they do more weddings there than Bolongo so they should be able to help you with logistics. Good luck with your planning.

I see Bolongo pitched as a "Family Resort" in the travel mags. That might/might not be a feature/bug.

Go with Secret Harbour! In addition to what jmq already said, I can tell you that I have seen two weddings take place there--they do a really nice job with the decorations, and the location is right on the water.
Thanks- Secret Harbour sounds like the way to go:)

Thank you all for the feedback. It's hard selecting a place sight-unseen, but I'm going to have a little faith and go with it. It sounds like Secret Harbour may be the right spot, even though it's not all inclusive. I think most of the guests would be okay with that since they shouldn't be staying that long.
I'm getting excited about visiting the island! Reading pasts posts, you guys have make it sound heavenly down there!

There are a lot of great places to eat both on St. Thomas and St. John, so not being all-inclusive might be a plus. On our last trip to St. John, we spent one night in St. Thomas at Bolongo Bay. The setting was nice, but the food was honestly pretty awful---so I personally would opt for the room-only plan if I were staying at Bolongo. Secret Harbour generally gets much better reviews than Bolongo----we booked that one night at last minute and SH was full.
