Duty Free vs. Mixology

Wondering if it is worth it to stop at the duty free shops (in town or cruise ship dock) in St. Thomas to buy booze (we'll have a car and be taking the car ferry to SJ) or just wait and buy or order in advance from Mixology? We are a party of six and some will buy smokes too which must be cheaper duty free then on-island in SJ.

Everything is cheaper on St.Thomas, so get what you can while there. The little duty free liqueur store at the airport had 2 bottle of both Captain Morgan& Bailey's for $24.On St.John it was close to $20 per bottle to give you an idea. The other thing to keep in mind is they will try to talk you into buying Cruzan( because it local) which is good for mixing but if you like a particular type( my wife only drinks Captain) buy it there because the Cruzan price is only a little higher where the name brands can be much higher. Don't know about the smokes because we don't. Have a Great Time.

If you have a car stop at cost you less or Kmart they are the cheaoest you are going to find. That being said I just buy it on STJ now and don't hassel with stopping on STT anymore.

I found the liquor prices to be wayyy lower on St. Thomas and they have everything imaginable. Cig cartons are $18.95 and they have all brands. I think its worth a stop if you have a car or nice taxi driver!

I agree with Tom, I would rather just get to STJ. A few more dollars here or there will not break me and I have no patience for the hectic pace of STT.
