We're a month away from paradise in stj. The time can not go fast enough.

Can anyone tell us how the living is at Cliffside Terrace? We'll want to grill and cook dinners at the villa. Is the kitchen well stocked? Thanks.

We stayed at Cliffside five years ago. The pool is down many stairs from the house and bar-b-que. LOTS of Iguanas....they would run after us if we tried to take food down by the pool. (They also would dip in the pool and "do their business" if we didn't chase them off.) The house is lovely and the kitchen very well stocked. We found Chocolate Hole location a little lonely....probably PERFECT for a honeymoon - we've been together a long time. :D There is a big house right above and so no "all over tanning" if people are staying there - unless you are brave....my husband was! We have stayed at Dream Catcher the last four years and are going back in a few days....we prefer the sunsets (none at Cliffside) and the "activity" of Great Cruz Bay...music coming on the wind at night from the Westin nice too. Don't let me cause you to worry though....everyone has their favorite spot on SJ and I've heard lots of people love Cliffside. Have a wonderful time and enjoy the island. Cliffside just might become your special place.

Question about Dreamcatcher villa

Snorkelqueen, are all three bedrooms at Dreamcatcher on the same level? We are looking for a house that will accomodate two couples with small children, so want all the bedrooms near each other on the same level (or at least interior staircases), and not in separate pods or accessible only by outdoor stairs. Wondering if this is a good candidate. Also, do all the sliding doors close and latch?

Thanks for the help

We honeymooned there in '04 and loved it. The grill is just outside the sliding doors and was brand new when we were there. The kitchen is nice, nothing fancy, electric range and a decent stock of supplies. We thought we were out of toilet paper the first day, until we found the cleverly disguised cabinet in the bathroom. (I think they've re-done the bathroom since then, so that may no longer apply.)

The outdoor shower is great, very private. Nobody was staying in the villa up the hill, so we had plenty of privacy. The iguanas are wonderful, the one that's my avatar we named "bigfoot". The views are spectacular, Chocolate Hole is a beautiful little harbor with small boats moored, and we loved sitting out at night watching the cruise ships cross the horizon.

We're going back next March, so I'll be watching for your trip report regarding any changes to the villa. The one thing I'm not looking forward to is the construction going on down at Chocolate Hole -- "Pond Bay Club" or some such thing. Anyway, they're building a resort down there, so it may not be as quiet as it was three years ago.

Thank you for the help. Still can't wait to get back to the island. Bill, I'll post a villa review when the fun's over.
