Old Photo's??

CG, Jorge, RickG, anyone else who reads this,
I started looking through my photo's last night. It started out to be a big pain in the arse! Some were in photo albums, but most were strewn throughout the house, in every drawer and in tattered cardboard boxes in the nastiest corners of the basement. Eventually I found the mother load and we began to pick through them. SORRY Jorge, no shots of the beer stand and surprisingly none of the dock?? I left a message today with one of my camping buddies and asked him to check his photo's from our trips, he actually started going to STJ with his family sometime in the 70's, his folks may have some good ones(older folks take a lot of pictures you know!), we'll see.
Wow, what a flood of memories! As I said, it started out last night to be a pain, but it only took a couple photo's to get us in the island mode. My daughter was laughing at the immaturity of her father back then (pre-wifey) and my wifey was asking what did she ever see in me back then, but just as she was saying that I turned, burped, said WHAT? And she went about looking at the photo's without saying anything, it must be true love!
The majority of my photo's were of the beaches, people on beaches, people drinking on the beaches, people lighting mosquito coils at Cinnamon Bay (10D), people balancing beer cans on their heads, people holding up rum bottles, the occasional BIG startled face shot taken with a flash in the pitch black night walking down the hill from the KITE bar above Cinnamon Bay (Try to walk one of those roads on a night without a moon, I DARE YOU! You could walk right off a cliff or worse fall into one of those stone culverts and spill your last cold beer).
I looked through a couple hundred shots from the 80's looking for pictures that really show how the island has changed, but to my surprise I could not find a shot that made me gasp. Hopefully my friends will come through with shots from Cruz Bay and the ferry area. Oh yeah, I did find a shot of two small ferries tied side by side on the left side of the dock, where the web cam faces, that was interesting. I found some shots from inside of the BackYard bar that I don't wish to share with anyone. I have shots with our jeep tops down! That's a big no no know huh. I guess I didn't take my camera into Cruz Bay very often, loser! I'll try to get the interesting ones scanned soon and post them.
I have some good stuff from @ 91-94, from the end of Ditliff looking back towards the hill overlooking Rendezvous, there were very few villas there then, but some you may know. I think I have one from the 80's of Peter Bay from Cinnamon Bay beach showing no homes, I have to verify that, there's a big rock in the shot that gives me doubts?? I'll send that to you guys for your opinion. Old shots from Salt Pond facing Concordia show no cottages. Our shots from the Beach Bar @ 91-92, then it was Benny Iguanas (Sushi Bar), really do not look any different, shots from Skinny's look the same except the outdoor bandstand is on the far left then.
Basically guys... I screwed up with the picture taking! EXCEPT for one shot, my wifey and I are standing under the Christ of the Caribbean on Peace Hill on our honeymoon before it fell during a hurricane! Take Care!
