Hi all,

I pretty much know all the restaurants in St John from reading the board for so long. Now I am looking for the most interesting, upscale restaurant on St Thomas with great views and food. Any suggestions?

I think the Stone Terrace has to be at the top of the list. My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary there in June. The food was fabulous, the atmosphere was romantic, and the service was outstanding. As for the view, we ate on the outdoor balcony, and it was lovely. However, in the dark, you can't see much beyond the restaurant (although I believe it overlooks the beach). We did eat when it was lighter out at The Balcony. That did overlook Cruz Bay, a beautiful view, but we were not impressed with the food. I also really like Morgan's Mango. Not much of a view, but great place. More casual, but I really liked it.

We went to Mafolies on Tuesday or wednesday. It had some AWSOME FOOD and a great view over looking the harbor in Charolette.

Stone Terrace is definately on the list for St John, so is Zozo's and Tage. Is it worth it to take a ferry to CA for dinner? Is there other things in CA to do (good shopping, browsing, etc...)?

Does Mafolies have a website. Has anyone been to Blue Havana at the Marriott Frenchmans Reef? Is that any good?

We enjoyed Herve's next to Hotel 1829 above CA. The food was good and the vew excellent. It's a little upscale but not too high.

Havana Blue and Herve on St. Thomas

My husband and I enjoyed both of these restaurants on St. Thomas in May. In fact, we agreed that these two dinners were probably some of the best meals we have had anywhere. Herve has a night-time city view and Havana Blue is a view of the ocean at night, which is rather dark on that side of St. Thomas.
Havana Blue is a beautiful restaurant. We probably would pick Havana Blue as our favorite. Neither were kind to the wallet!

Thanks everyone for your input. They all sound wonderful. My husband and I have 12 nights on the island and are looking to go into St Thomas at least one night so choosing one restaurant out of your suggestions will be tough although I'm sure we won't be disappointed in any of them. Which restaurant would be the farthest from St JOhn (minutes). This will be our first time in St John and the virgin islands. Do you think it's worthwhile even leaving ST John to go to ST Thomas? If you compared the upscale restaurants in St John to St Thomas which ones would be preferable. :D

On St Thomas, you can try The Manor House Restaurant at Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa. Quick trip from Red Hook, and AMAZING views of St John and Thatch Cay.

On St. Thomas: Blue Moon at Secret Harbour
On St. John: Stone Terrace

Hands down fits your bill on all fronts.

Craig and Sallys is awesome but no view.
Virgillios is incredible, one of the best meals that I have every had in my life, but no view at all and very expensive.
What about Room with a view at Bluebeards? Not sure about the food of recent but the view is awesome.

We have reservations at Craig & Sally's on the night we arrive on St. Thomas. A good friend of ours grew up on St. John and recommended it. We can't wait!

Not sure I would go to STT for dinner if it was my first time to STJ unless I had eaten everywhere that was on my STJ list :)

When you add the $20.00 roundtrip ferry to the $40.00 (approx) taxi fares ($10.00 pp each way from red Hook to any restaurant in town) you have just added $60.00 to the cost of your meal - stay on STJ and have a great bottle of wine instead :)

The restaurant at the Mafolie Hotel has a beautiful view - here is the link to the restaurant part of their website - couldn't tell you how the food was cuz they closed early the night we attempted to go (even though they assured us they would be open)...
