Thinking of an October trip next year. Usually go in May. How is the weather compared to May ? My hubbie thinks October is prime storm time. Is the temperature of air and water same as may, what is the chance of a storm ?

we were there last year from 10/2-10/12 and the weather was great. only thing I could say was most evenings it got pretty cloudy and we had no sunsets to speak out. And one evening there was a wicked storm but that was about it. The water temp. was great.

We love going to St. John in October. It is a gamble with the weather but usually we have more sunny days vs. cloudy days. A couple years ago we had rain for 4 days straight. I think the later in October you go, the better. We were there the 3rd week last year and had a great time. Some restaurants are closed this time of year, however there are less crowds. Definitely go!

Our first trip to St. John was in October of 2003. We loved the weather. We stayed in a house without AC on Hart Bay and were fine, sleeping wise. It was sunny every day. I don’t recall whether we had any good sunsets. The beaches were completely empty most days, and most (though not all) of the restaurants were open. I will say though, that a couple of days after we left St. John was hit with a 10-day deluge that cost millions of dollars in damage. I remember some disappointed trip reports. Of course, there is nothing you can do about the weather!
