Just what I needed. A reminder! I am actively pursuing that dream right now. Have tested the plan a few times on the boat pictured below. It was really nice to have friends working a charter cat this past winter in the VI. Your plans?

Like to be retired by 55 or at least semi retired 12 more years. Have always had the dream to live in the Carribean somewhere, then we dicovered St. John. Problem is its so expensive, definetly can't afford a Villa . A little lightbulb flickersd in my brain, how bout a sailboat, can afford one of those and the wife says she's willing to give it a try. Probably do a coarse so we can get certified for bareboating to see what we think of it one of these vacations soon. By the way thanks for the website you posted on a previous post.

Since there are several like minded people on this BB, I highly recommend a subscription to http://www.latsandatts.net/magazine/ . Tons of like minded wanna be cruisers and many that are already out there doing it subscribe to this rag.

Now I am off to the beach!

We have thought about it too! We have a while to wait and plan, since our youngest is 4, but we will find a way to live down there someday!!
