Why are most of the villas in STJ not

fully A/C?
But a bigger percentage of the villas in STT offer full A/C. Thanks.

I know of some on STJ that are fully air conditioned but the owners choose to lock out the main area ones because of elec costs as people have the patio doors open and are outside during the day with the air on. I have never found that I need it in the living room , kitchen area just bedrooms

Thanks for the response waterguy. But one would think your points would be the same for STT villas. Is the electricity costs higher on STJ?

All I know there bills were about 2800.00 a month now they are less then a thousand they had a choice raise the rent or turn off the main living area ac if people would use it as it is suppose to be they wouldn't have had to. When they are staying there and run the whole thing with the doors shut it ran them about 1500 so they figure thatmust be trying to cool the whole island.

zoofinger - we've rented a ton of villas and condos on other islands (never St. John - first trip in a few weeks). Unless you have a specific health concern that dictates full A/C, I think you only need it in the bedrooms. If you're going in August, I guess I could see full A/C, but if you go between December - April, you really won't need it. Plus, it's usually less expensive to go with a partial A/C place.
All that said, I live in the Southern US, so I'm on intimate terms with both searing heat and humidity.

thats what everyone told us when we went to Jamaica, Eleuthera, Exuma, Cabo, PV and Cancun. We usually go in the summer, but were always told you get the "ocean breezes", no A/C needed" Bull*#^@ !!!
We live in the south as well. Gotta have the A/C!
