Is it Wrong?

Ok, so is it totally and completely wrong that here I sit 5 months and a week and a day or two (not that I am counting) from my long awaiting, once postponed trip to STJ ... looking at HOUSES for my next, next trip.
A trip that probably won't happen until 2009 at the soonest. We are biting the bullet and taking the girl to disney - Spring Break 08 - (at 5 she's already jaded and informed me when I asked if she wanted to have breakfast with Cinderella that "its not the REAL Cinderella mom. Its just someone dressed as a character."
With REAL school starting in the fall our travel windows are getting smaller and smaller!
I am going to be SOOOOOO depressed come November 25th!

well, I do it too so I'm going to say it's not wrong! LOL And I have no real idea when we might return after this trip in November.

Of course it's not wrong. I am ususally stacked about 3 trips deep at any one time....

flip-flop, I've become almost addicited to "vacation planning", which often amounts to investigating places that I might be able to go at some future, unspecified time. Every time I read a post about a villa someone raves about, I look up that villa and tuck it away in those mental files. Don't get me started about my reaction to posts about other islands or expanded flight schedules... that just starts a new flurry of Googling!

flip-flop....nothing wrong with that, like mb, I do the same thing. I'm looking at villas for spring of 2008 and we don't even have a trip in the works. It's sure fun looking though.

Yeah well I too am just not happy unless I am in planning stages for the trip after the trip that I haven't taken yet.
It's pretty much my fun in life. I need to be an agent so I can OCD out on vacations other than my own.
It is a form of addiction, but I'm pretty happy with it so I'm sticking to it!

Travel is my hobby so I think it is totally normal to plan ahead. At the moment I am working on STJ 2008 and a late summer road trip.

I guess if you have to be addicted to something, it might as well be travel planning
We just returned from a week at the beach this past weekend. We've got 5 months and some change until St. John. Then in March we have Disney. Tentatively planning on the outer banks for the late summer of 2008.
So ... we are into 2009. My husband really wants to do something other than STJ (sheeeesh). So I am looking at the Caymans for the Spring of 09. Good diving right?
Now, I am trying to figure out how I can swing another late Fall/early Winter (off season) trip to STJ in 2009. I may just have to go it alone

I don't think there is anything wrong with it either, although my husband sometime wants to lock me up and make me stop. My sister and I got back from Florida Sunday night and I'm in the early stages of planning our next 2 STJ trips, one with kids, one without. I just can't figure out when we are going to squeeze it all in. It is hard when they are in "real" school!

I think we all have that problem or we wouldn't be here!
Seriously, if I didn't have the 6 on the Beach planned, I'd be scheming something to STJ soon. It may have been alone, but whatever.
I am thinking about how I can scheme a 2008 trip with someone, somehow.

Hello, my name is Cyressgirl and I'm an addict.
Sea-nile, I'll plan a trip with you in 2008. We may have a crowd going with us by then.

That sounds great! I hope that my husband lets me go. Maybe if we make it November again I can do it.

This is not a problem. You are completely normal. There is nothing wrong with you.
This is why I coerced my hubby into buying a timeshare, a cheap timeshare on STJ. That way I know I can go at least once every year! And since it wasn't expensive, I can usually go twice. Also, since the timeshare is when we bring the kids, we just have to have that grown-up only trip too!
It's been working so far!!

FF - you are so on target, at least in my opinion (and the rest of us as well)!
The ONLY thing that keeps me from continual planning is lack of funds and vacation time for hubby (even though he enjoys 6 weeks off a year).
I'm so looking forward to hearing about your trip, it was sad when you had to cancel last year. I'm really excited for ya guys!
Happy CONTINUAL Planning!
