Hi ....I am thinking of booking a last minute trip for July 4th. I can have a connecting flight out of either MIami or JFK , both are a hour layover , which is the best option

The better option for me when traveling to the islands is which flight has the earliest arrival to my destination. If there is no difference in arrival time, I tend to go through JFK due to our starting location. Does that make sense?

sounds like you are on American ? if so that Miami terminal and the connections can be a pain (going from D to E)

Miami is really spread out but if you land on time, an hour will work out OK for you to get to your next flight. Big if there, but I fly them a lot, out of necessity, and they are pretty good about connecting flights there.
