Alert: Tourists are standing on the coral.

Guilty. I did it once on that huge boulder on the west side of vies beach at the point. I didn't know it was a big deal at the time.

As a dive instructor I see it all the time. People don't listen and a great many do not care. Sad.

Saw a woman at Francis Bay with shoes on and a snorkel mask walking on the rocks in the water on the west side on the beach. Explained to her that the "rocks" are part of the reef, have many organisms growing on them, and she probably killed a bunch.

She said we were rude and people like me were why she would never come back to St. John.
