CNN is reporting a young boy in Florida whose home was exterminated is now in the hospital suffering the same symptoms as the Esmond family who stayed at Sirenusa.

It's very sad. Same company.

Here's the article. Incredibly sad. One would think Terminex would be monitoring/auditing sub-contractors since the tragic St John incident.

Ugh. Terminix, should have been on every subcontractor using their products like stink on $#it immediately after the incident in STJ. Idiots.

I have a neighbor who works in management for Terminix and he says that the company has very little control over what subcontractors do...perhaps they need to end relationships with subcontractors? He has no idea how the people on STJ got a hold of that pesticide. He said that even if he wanted to, he could not get his hands on any. He said that it's very tightly controlled and requires strict special use licensing.

After the incident in STJ, he said that there have been many, many, many company meetings about the incident. It sounds like the actual Terminix wouldn't make this kind of mistake, but somehow their subs don't know what they're doing?? I don't know how that is possible after the STJ incident

Per the article, pesticide sulfuryl fluoride was the culprit this time. It's approved for internal use in certain states. However, one has to be properly trained and licensed. I don't claim to be an expert about that compound but I can't imagine that anyone's central nervous system would not be impacted by an over load/overexposure of any dangerous toxin. Terminex (or ANY other pest control company for that matter) should be more vigilant with training and education. Such a tragedy.
