The gate agent made my ticket TSA precheck even though I am not in the program when we came last April. At the time I thought it was because I was still bald from chemo and the agent did not want me to have to remove my hat. When John and I came home yesterday our tickets were not coded for TSA precheck but we were pulled from the regular security line and sent to the TSA pre check area thanks to some machine one of the guards had called "TSA Randomizer." I saw some other people being selected also.

We did not get through in five minutes but I guess it saved a little time.

TSA Pre-check is available a certain airports with certain carriers.

We recently flew to the Dominican Republic on JetBlue and were able to qualify by entering our passport info, etc during the ticket purchasing process.

I have a TSA known traveler number for precheck and was able to breeze right through in August. My daughter's friend got pulled for precheck even though she doen't have a KTN, so she was right behind me. My daughter did not - which her friend and I thought was hysterical, she was less amused

Finally!

Some airports have full pre-check lines and equipment and others have an enhanced method. The enhanced airports do not have the hardware to be able to see inside your bags and find all objects TSA regards as dangerous. Therefore, you must pull the liquids and computers out. It is still better than the traditional security checks. there may come a day when a full pre-check line is available at STT.

We both have KTNs. We'll see how that helps us next summer.
