Jimmys on STJ

I am curious if anyone has rented a Jimmy in place of a jeep on STJ. We rented one on Virgin Gordo last Nov. Really liked it for two people but it did not have a lot of power. Would like to know if anyone has any experience with one on the North Shore road where it leads back up to Centerline. Some of those curves are wickedly steep.

We have been driving a Jimmy around Tortola for the past week and yes they are limited in power but ... In my opinion the hills on STJ are nothing compared to those on Tortola. I think a Jimmy would do fine on STJ. By the way, does anyone even rent Jimmys on STJ?

I thought this thread was about those sprinkles you get on an ice cream cone.

I drove a Jimny around St. John last month and really enjoyed it. Yes, it doesn't have a lot of power, but the only area where it had trouble on the hills was out on the East End.

Plus it was very easy to maneuver in town and got great gas mileage...

My first thought was "Is there a bar called Jimmy's that I don't know about?"

We've driven them on Virgin Gorda and it was fine and inexpensive. Who is renting them? Agreed, the road to Brewers Bay on Tortola is pretty exciting. But the asphalt roads on St. John's north shore have that special slippery when wet added excitement.

Cheers, RickG

Sunshine Jeep Rental has Jimnys. Rates are a little less than a 2-door jeep but they are smaller and easier to find a parking place in Cruz Bay.
