Our son just scored the very first purchase from the new "ST JOHN BEACH BUM" shop before it officially opens. It is located next to the ferry dock upstairs across from St John Spice.

I guess that is in the old St John Spice Kids location. What does the StJ Beach Bum shop sell? Clothing or other?

I think it will be beach and snorkel gear. Our son bought a large mesh drawstring bag for fins etc.

Yes, this new store is in the old St. John Kids location. St. John Kids has been consolidated with St. John Spice. You will now find lots of clothing and toys for kids at St. John Spice.

While technically not part of this post...
Some while back International House Hunters had an episode about two guys moving to STJ opening a shop for pets and offering pet care services. Did this ever make it? We did not see it in Cruz Bay although we really didn't go out looking for it either. Always thought the idea was a bit of a stretch.

Chris@work, that shop (St. Johnimals) is closed now. I am pretty sure that the guys moved off island.

The new store will be very useful
They carry (and more inventory is being added daily) beach chairs for rent, noodles, floats, reef safe sunscreen, underwater disposable cameras, snorkel set rental (and purchase I think) waterproof cases for phones and lots of great beach toys for children and I know there is more I am not remembering.
